Winter schedule of flights from Wroclaw from 25.10

Tenerife in Ryanair’s offer and Stockholm in Wizz Air’s offer – two new destinations in the winter schedule of flights from Wroclaw. Altogether, passengers will have 32 low-cost, network and charter destinations at their disposal in the new season. The winter flight schedule will be valid from Sunday the 25th of October.

The winter flight schedule 2015/2016 contains 23 low-cost, 5 network and 4 charter routes, which altogether means 32 destinations. ‘In comparison to the last year, the offer of cheap lines is more attractive. A new flight to Tenerife may become a hit – it will serve as a perfect supplement to southern destinations and proposed charter routes. Apart from that, passengers will have bigger planes at their disposal on routes to large transfer hubs,’ says Dariusz Kuś, President of the Wroclaw Airport.

More cheap flights

Flights to Tenerife are being introduced by Ryanair. The first plane on this route will take off from Wroclaw on the 4th of November (all tickets for this date are already sold out). ‘This destination should attract all travellers who are planning a winter holiday in a sunny place. In December, January or February, the average temperature of this biggest Canary Island is around 25°C,’ says Monika Półtorzycka-Jon, Marketing and PR Manager of the Wroclaw Airport. In the winter of 2015/2016, carriers will also continue to offer flights to the most attractive European cities: Barcelona, Paris, Rome or Milan. These destinations are popular among people preferring a shorter holiday or a weekend city break.

Another new destination in this winter’s schedule is Stockholm-Skavsta, where Wizz Air planes have flown since the 15th of September. Passengers can choose between two flights per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and an additional flight will be introduced on Wednesdays in the Christmas and New Year period. ‘Flights to Stockholm are hugely important for businesspersons, because business connections between Lower Silesia and Sweden are becoming closer. Apart from that, Stockholm is a very attractive tourist destination,’ adds Jarosław Sztucki, Marketing and Sales Director in the Wroclaw Airport.

The offer of cheap carriers includes also flights to another Scandinavian capital – Oslo. We will fly to the Rygge airport with Ryanair and to the Torp airport with Wizz Air. Ryanair’s route to Warszawa-Modlin will also remain in the winter schedule, with two flights available from Monday to Friday (in the morning and in the evening) and one flight on weekends (morning flight on Saturday and evening flight on Sunday). ‘The hours of flights are very convenient for passengers, and the flight lasts only 55 minutes, so the route to Warszawa-Modlin is becoming increasingly popular. This is proved by numbers. In September 2015, we served over 18,500 passengers on this route, and a year ago we served slightly more than 6,300. This means a 191.6% increase,’ says Jarosław Sztucki, Sales and Marketing Director in the Wroclaw Airport.

The offer of flights from Wroclaw to the British Isles, e.g., to London-Stansted, London-Luton, Liverpool, Doncaster-Sheffield or Glasgow and to three airports in Ireland (Dublin, Cork and Shannon) is also as rich as previously.

Bigger planes (not only) for businesspersons

Flights to large transfer hubs are becoming increasingly popular among Wroclaw passengers, so carriers are introducing bigger planes: Lufthansa on routes to Frankfurt and Munich and SAS on the route to Copenhagen. ‘The carriers are responding to the increasing demand of passengers. Wroclaw is becoming an increasingly important place on the business map of Europe, so the significance of such routes will continue to grow,’ says Jarosław Sztucki.

The offer of network destinations for businesspersons from Wroclaw is supplemented with Eurowings, previously Germanwings (Düsseldorf), and LOT Polish Airlines (Warszawa-Okęcie). Apart from that, the winter flight schedule includes 4 charter destinations, including Fuerteventura in the archipelago of the Canary Islands and the three biggest Egyptian destinations: Hurghada, Sharm el Sheikh and Marsa Alam. Travel agencies have already begun to sell their offers for the summer of 2016, and some even promote first-minute offers with a 40% discount. The offer includes new destinations: two Greek islands (Thassos and Lefkada), but also Alicante, Barcelona (El Prat) and increasingly popular 11-day excursions, including Antalya, Bodrum, Crete Chania, Rhodes and Bulgaria.

Addressing passengers

The Wroclaw Airport is introducing additional conveniences and services. A parking place near the airport can now be booked online (even at a 40% discount), irrespective of whether we arrive for an hour or leave the car for two weeks. In addition, services such as Fast Track or Executive Lounge have recently become available on the website of the airport. With a rich network of destinations, additional services and conveniences and the development of the network of motorways and expressways (S3, S5 and S8), the Wroclaw airport is becoming even more important on a supra-regional scale. ’It is the port of first choice not only for inhabitants of Lower Silesia, Opole and Lubuskie regions or a large part of Wielkopolska, but also for passengers from more distant regions, such as Łódź, Upper Silesia or even Szczecin,’ stresses Dariusz Kuś.
