Wroclaw Culinary Fest 2015

A restaurant week, or the first edition of the "The Essence of Summer" Wroclaw Culinary Fest starts today. Until 2 August, 15 different restaurants will be offering special menus to celebrate the occasion. Each venue offering something unique, they nonetheless share the same prices: 5 PLN for a starter, 12 PLN for the main course, and 15 PLN for the entire set.

Why is it so suspiciously cheap? Because dishes are smaller than usual, so that you gourmets who join the festival can go from one eatery to the other to taste at least several starters and main courses and enjoy as many flavours as possible. Now it is all the easier as no bookings or special vouchers are required. Just come, order our festival menu and enjoy the food!

Each of you will be offered a chance to grade our food. The restaurant which scores best in the competition will receive special gourmets' award. You can vote by filling in a form at the Culinary Fest Facebook page.

Barka Tumska (Wyspa Słodowa 10)

  • Cold beetroot soup. Organic beetroot ice cream, cucumber, quill egg.
  • Sea bass, mango, salicornia, truffle butter, smoked sea salt, black rice

Brasserie 27 (Kazimierza Wielkiego 27)

  • Salad with pickled vegetables, goats cheese and breaded yolk
  • Marinated duck breast, caramelised fig, truffle flavoured potatoes, gooseberry sauce

  • Pork in Thai harb marinade, served with egg and rice

  • 3 tomatoes of different kinds, Thai basil olive, raspberry-balsamic reduction, Maldon sea salt, green garden
  • Halibut, fennel, sweet peas, pickled blueberries, orange espuma beurre blanc

  • Prawn with watermelon, radish, cucumber, sunflower sprouts, seeds and mint sauce

  • Grilled goats cheese served on wine and cranberry jelly, with crusty bacon on a cheery smoke cloud
  • Chicken breast with courgette, carrot and goats cheese roulade with truffle and mustard sauce

Szynkarnia - local food & multitap (św. Antoniego 15)

  • Pickled fennel with currants on a homemade butter roll
  • Traditional flat bread with Felinów blood sausage, apricots and spring onions

Vertigo Jazz Club & Restaurant (Oławska 13)

  • Tomato and grilled pepper cold soup with basil pesto and sourdough sticks
  • Green-tea marinated chicken breast served with grilled aubergine and peppers, green pea mousse, broad beans and red currants

Wrocławska (Szewska 59)

  • Chicken livers in fresh rocket with raspberry sauce
  • Roast ribs with new cabbage and new potatoes

Zdrowa Krowa (Szczytnicka 41)

  • Mushroom morning: mushroom and amaranth pâté, tomato baked with thyme, tomato jelly, mushroom crisps (vegetarian)
  • Barbecue on the grass: bean sausage with sun-dried tomatoes, millet gnocchi with herbs, green apple mousse, currant chutney, mini herbs and leaves (vegetarian)
