The City of Wroclawreceived the prize for City FDI Promotion Strategy of the Year during the Emerging Europe Awards gala on 21st June inLondon. The strategy prepared by the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency (ARAW) was evaluated as better than the strategy of three other Polish cities (Katowice,Lublin,Poznań), as well asKlaipėda,Ostrava,Plovdiv,Sarajevo and Tirana.
Prestigious European award
Emerging Europe Awards is a contest held for countries, cities and start-ups of Central & Eastern Europe in 10 categories (apart from City FDI Promotion Strategy of the Year, they include also FDI Project of the Year, Global Market Champion of the Year, Research & Development Initiative of the Year, Social Impact Start-Up of the Year, or Tourist Champion of the Year).
The jury of the contest consists of influential experts, including Peter Stracar – President of GE Europe, and Olga Grygier-Siddons – President of PwC Central andEastern Europe, and one of the keynote speakers at the Emerging Europe conference (under which prizes are awarded) was Günter Verheugen – former European Commissioner for Enlargement (1999-2004).
