"Miś" Milk Bar

It is one of the most popular milk bars in Wroclaw. Its regular guests are students, tourists, school excursions and ordinary Wroclaw inhabitants. Russian pierogis are ordered most frequently here, but flour pancakes and small flat noodles ("łazanki") also have their fans. In the summer, the bar offers traditional seasonal dishes: chanterelle cream, fruit soup or cold beetroot soup with egg. Unfortunately, it is not possible to order a takeaway dinner here.

"Mewa" Milk Bar

Because of the proximity of the city centre, the Mewa milk bar is very popular both among Wroclaw inhabitants and students and among tourists, and the lack of long queues such as those in "Miś" is a huge advantage of this place. Here, the most popular dish among customers are also Russian dumplings, which are served every day from 1:00 p.m.

The bar whose name recalls an old Polish good-night cartoon for children has existed in Wroclaw already for three generations. Lovers of meat, vegetarian food or sweets will certainly find something for themselves here. Jacek i Agatka has over 100 items in its menu.

Some say that this place has existed forever. The Wiking bar is visited both by local inhabitants, who choose potato dumplings and pierogis most frequently, and by visitors who arrive in Wroclaw after years of emigration and are surprised to see that Wiking still functions. Prices are not as low as in aforementioned diners, but meals are tasty here and the room is air-conditioned

This bar has its regular guests. Apart from local inhabitants (including students), employees of the office building at ul. Bema and other persons often eat here. Ale! Duet offers many vegetarian dishes, so it is often visited by vegetarians. The dish that disappears most quickly are Russian pierogis, which are served from 11:00 a.m. and run out before 3:00 p.m., but Silesian dumplings and croquettes are also very popular. In the summer season, you can order here Lithuanian and Bulgarian cold beetroot soup, braised young cabbage or warm seasonal vegetables.

A travel-wearied tourist with a large suitcase is a type of person that you can very often meet here, because the bar is located near the railway station; however, it is also a favourite place to eat for building site workers, students, parents with children and local inhabitants. The bar has an outdoor garden, which allows guests to find a seat outside the really small (“Mały”) bar in spring and summer. Dinner sets composed by female cooks, which consist of a soup, second course and compote, are very popular here.

"Karmazyn" Bar in the Market Hall

The bar situated in the historic Market Hall does not suffer from a lack of customers. Except local inhabitants and merchants working in the hall, it also serves a large mass of students, including those from the Institute of Polish Philology located opposite the bar. The most favourite dish of customers of the Karmazyn bar is a dinner set with a minced meat cutlet. And, of course, Russian dumplings – the bar staff assures that they are always available!

Called tenderly "Słoneczko" (the Sun), the bar at ul. Komandorska is a favourite place among students of the nearby University of Economics. This means that you have to wait for your meal in a long queue in the academic year, but the visitors of the bar assure that it's worth it. A rye soup is a very popular dish here, but Russian pierogis also have their fans. The Słoneczny Bar is situated on the 1st floor of the shopping pavilion; the customers who come here during heats complain that it is very hot inside.

This small bar is located in a renovated tenement house at ul. Komuny Paryskiej and is visited mainly by local inhabitants. A very popular dish is the soup of the day (which is different every day).

It is one of the oldest diners in the city. The place is small and its guests are mainly local inhabitants. The most popular dish are Russian pierogis, which – as women preparing dishes in Grochowianka say – can never run out. The diner offers also seasonal dishes, such as pierogis with strawberries, blueberries or sweet cherries, cold beetroot soup with egg, beet green soup or sorrel soup.

Apart from local inhabitants, the diner at ul. Żeromskiego is also visited by travellers – ambulance crews, policemen or post office employees, because meals are served fast here and it is possible to take them away. The Produs Diner functions also in another place at ul. Traugutta. The cutlets with hard cheese and spinach that are served here have their faithful fans.
