"Man consists of two parts, his mind and his body, only the body has more fun." The quote by Woody Allen serves as a slogan to promote The Burda Food Center, a new culinary studio in ul Rdestowa 1B-C established under the auspices of Burda Media Polska, a publishing house present all over Poland, including Wroclaw.

As a publishing house, Burda runs a number of culinary periodicals such as Slowly Veggie, Apetyty Claudia, Sól i Pieprz, Moje Gotowanie, Sielska Kuchnia, Przyślij Przepis, Kulinarne Hity, the most popular of which are created in Wroclaw. The company has now invested in a "scrumptious" studio to organise meetings, parties and cooking workshops.

"We cook like no other"

runs the slogan created by the editors of the magazines who assure they can both write about cooking and stand behind the stove to cook something scrumptious and unique on their own using recipes from all over the globe. Their persistent desire was to cook while at work and they now have a special cooking station to do so. The one to hold "scrumptious" workshops for all of those who know little about cooking or who would like to find out more with talented cooks such as the Wroclaw MasterChef Beata Śniechowska. She was the one who put in an appearance at the Burda Food Center's grand opening (29 September) to supervise people cooking autumn rolls with Milicz sturgeon, pumpkin, coriander and miso.

Cooking brings people together

Burda Media Polska in Wroclaw strives to bring together a variety of professionals by organising meetings with chefs during which they can cook together and later enjoy the results. Besides professional assistance, the organisers guarantee great atmosphere and videos and photographs to commemorate the party.

Food is good for you

Some people say that you really need to be fit to stomach traditional Polish cuisine. Based on cereals, potatoes and meat, traditional Polish cooking is tasty, but it can also be hard on you and lead to a variety of digestive tract complaints or have a negative effect on those who already have them. Allergies also seem to increasingly pester us these days, and they make people forego certain food products containing gluten or lactose, which makes it a challenge to prepare delicious meals. Thus, the Burda Food Center's goal is to run cooking workshops that teach you how to prepare meals for people with a variety of health problems, including coeliac disease or diabetes. The task requires a contribution from cooks who know how to make food that is simply good for you. Their suggestions and the final result created during the workshops will be put to the test by the diners.

Everything is right at your fingertips in the Burda Food Center's modern kitchen

Who's going to stir the pot?

The Burda Food Center workshops will be moderated by professionals and the enthusiasts of refined, scrumptious and healthy cooking, food bloggers and nutrition specialists as well as people who come up with and coordinate social and educational initiatives that promote healthy cooking.

Zbigniew Koźlik, Head Chef at the HP Park Plaza Hotel and a man passionate about Lower Silesian cuisine and regional produce, is going to help as a subject-matter expert. Each workshop series is already designed. Read more about the agenda below:
