Characteristic dishes
Pierogi - one of the most famous Polish dishes. Molded dough stuffed with stuffing. In dry and sweet versions in many variations.
Bigos - a dish based on meat, sauerkraut and spices, as well as dried plums, tomato puree, bay leaf, allspice.
Sour soup - a sour soup based on meat broth with sourdough bread made from rye flour served with white sausage and hard-boiled eggs.
