A table illuminated with warm light, a cup of coffee, a comfortable armchair, a car and planes that seem to have been drawn by a child - the Wroclaw artist Andrzej Klimczak-Dobrzaniecki invites us to his world.
What adds flavour to the exhibition in Awangarda, is the fact that the painter’s works were selected by his daughter Alice, the curator of the gallery. She looked at her father's works from a very close personal perspective, referring to mutual memories and experiences shared with him.
Andrzej Klimczak-Dobrzaniecki – a painter, teacher and former rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw – takes spectators to a safe colour world. Full of cheerful affirmation of life, his paintings and drawings show everyday life, ordinary items and places visited during vacation. The artist simplifies reality and shows it in a naive manner, but also points out emotions accompanying all subjects undertaken by him.
The exhibition "Collected – everything happens in one place, anyway" consists of four parts: "Checkered", "Tables (house)", "The real picture of the Kłodzko fortress", "Czech poems". It presents paintings on canvas (oil, acrylic, tempera) as well as drawings, occasional notes, sketches and other elements of the “artistic workshop”, and recent works, most of which have never been published anywhere. The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication presenting the artist's works.
