Tup Tup already works successfully in other cities, both in Poland and abroad. The total distance of routes marked in the Tup Tup "metro map" is over 47 km. Apart from routes leading through standard tourist and cultural attractions, the authors suggest also walks around some less attended places.
Discovering on foot
The map includes seven diversified theme routes. Those in for active recreation in nature include: "Dla zielonych" [For The Green] or "Ale wałek" [What a Bank]. As it turns out, there's plenty of green in our city. "Dobrze NadOdrze [Good Nadodrze]" is a trail that leads through the most interesting nooks and crannies of the already cult district. Apart from that, the authors of the map - members of the Akcja Miasto [Action City] group - suggest walks in the southern and western parts of Wrocław. "We want to prove that to move around and discover new places one doesn't need to use public transport or a car. We can see so much more on foot. There is plenty of interesting places at your fingertips, or in this case toe-tips" explains Agnieszka Jankowska, co-author of Wrocław Tup Tup map. "We care to promote pedestrian traffic, and for people to consciously choose this way of moving around the city, because we all benefit from " adds Jankowska. For Wroclavians and tourists The map will be available for free in tourist information points, hostels, cafés, student dorms, and also at selected stops. It is now available for download at Akcja Miasto website. It is targeted for not only the residents of Wrocław, but also tourists and expats living in Wrocław, an that's why it has also been prepared in English.
