New car park and traffic lights
From the beginning of July, new traffic lights are operating at the intersection of ul Wróblewskiego and Kopernika. They have been installed to reorganise traffic during the construction of a new underground car park. A lot of changes have been put in place in the area. The road was divided into "drive ahead" and "turn left" lanes. Bicycle lanes at both sides of the road and a special gate for cyclists have also been created.
Cyclists are already using them. The entrance to ul Kopernika have been fenced off with bollards and signposted to prevent drivers from parking at both sides of the street. Drivers are already prohibited to park in the street, and a new counter-lane for cyclists will soon be provided in the area.
New parking spaces for coaches
A new car park for buses and disabled drivers is being developed at the entrance to the Zoo. Next to it, a new pedestrian crossing across the road and tram line will be provided to people who walk towards Biskupin. The pavement leading from the Zwierzyniecki Bridge is also being renovated.

A lot more changes are to be introduced by 15 August. "We are planning to introduce parking restrictions on ul Mickiewicza and Wróblewskiego to ul Tramwajowa and Kopernika. We are going to have greenery planted and pavements and bicycle lanes fenced off with bollards to prevent drivers from parking in the area," says Ewa Mazur, Spokesman for the Road and City Infrastructure Management Office .
Ul Mickiewicza for cyclists and pedestrians
Ul Mickiewicza will also see a lot of changes. First changes will be put in place at the Zwierzyniecki Bridge. The pavement that used to serve as parking space for drivers will be available only to pedestrians and bicycles. Road-menders are in the process of renovating the bicycle lane leading to Szczytnicki Park. An additional lane will be provided to cyclists so that they can travel easily both ways. The changes will make it easier for cyclists and pedestrians to cross ul Mickiewicza. A new bicycle crossing will be provided next to the pedestrian crossing in the Japanese Garden's vicinity, and a new pedestrian and bicycle crossing across the road and tram line. All changes in traffic are to be put in place by 15 August.
