'No tickets are required to attend the 'Flow', as the flow of the spectators and artists is free. There are no walls, no fences. Anyone can join,' says Chris Baldwin, director of the event. "Flow" 'will run all day Saturday on June 11 in four zones, and will wrap up with an evening concert combined with a performance.

Piasek Island - zone 1

"Flow" will include artists from Israel, whose dance performances tell the story of building a common space across borders. 'The story is that everyone wants freedom, which can't be confined,' explains Baldwin. The Contemporary Dance Stage will be located in zone 1 on Piaskowa Island.

Pl. Nowy Targ - zone 2

In zone 2, from pl. Nowy Targ to Słowackiego Park, the audience will be invited to an intensive performance-cum-walk through four decades of the twentieth century. "A Story" will tell the experience of families in Wroclaw and Lower Silesia. The culmination of the walk is the meeting with the Spirits of Wroclaw, who participated in the opening ceremony of the ECC. The audience will also see a performance of the Dutch group Dancenest from Breda, who worked with dancers from Wroclaw. In Słowackiego Park there will be open, outdoor workshops held by young artists from all over Europe fields such as singing, circus art, theatre, dance.

The Botanical Garden - zone 3

"Marmalade", i.e. Polish-German project centred around the memory of the flavour will settle in zone 3, in the Botanical Garden of the University of Wroclaw. Theater der Jungen Welt from Leipzig prepared a play about memories from the family home, about preserves prepared by grandmothers, and recipes handed down from generation to generation. Combined with a picnic and concert, this event will most delight families and enthusiasts of different flavours.

Pl. Uniwersytecki - zone 4

The space of pl. Uniwersytecki (zone 4) will be dedicated to stories of Ukrainians living in Poland. The audience will be able to move freely around the specially prepared installations, watching performances and happenings. We will have the opportunity to listen to the stories encapsulated in an extraordinary form, peek inside the small houses.

Twenty one wardrobes will stand in the centre of Wroclaw, in which anyone can deposit their memories and stories, as well as dreams of the city. They will be used in preparation for the show, "Heaven", which will close the ECC.

The evening "Flow"

The closing of the day-long activities will be the evening performance taking place out on the Odra River, between the Piasek Island and the Pokoju Bridge. The event starts at 10 pm and will last approx. 60 min.

At the culminating point, the concert will include more than 240 performers. Its cantata was created by Paweł Romańczuk, developed by the composers from Poland, Israel, Germany and the Czech Republic. Apart from the music, the key role in the show belongs to the buildings surrounding the Oder, and its ships and boats. Together, they will tell the story of the twentieth-century Wroclaw.

For those who want to see the show in a more intimate atmosphere, TV screens will be prepared in several independent points of the city. 'Flow is an opportunity to talk about minorities, who created Wroclaw, get to know their stories, meet with their representatives,' emphasizes Baldwin.
