Chess weekend in Galeria Dominikańska

12 am, Galeria Dominikańska, level -1, participation in the tournament is free, but registration is mandatory

White and black pawns, 64-checker chessboards, clocks and dozens of enthusiasts of 'the royal game' of all ages will take over Galeria Dominikańska this weekend.

• On Saturday, a tournament with categories 'open' and 'women,'

Mood4Food - festival of food trucks

The third edition of Mood4Food. Food Trucks will again park at the Centennial Hall. The event is suitable for all gourmets who enjoy a variety of specialties served by mobile restaurants. Open air bicycle workshop

Cyclists will have at their disposal an open bicycle repair shop, DIY workshops, a special cyclist's menus and other two-wheeler attractions. After dark, screening of a film 'Bikes vs Cars.'

Lower Silesia Phonographic Fair at Firlej

1 - 3 pm, Firlej Club, ul. Grabiszyńska 56, free admission

Along with the end of the summer vacations, the Lower Silesia Phonographic Fair returns to Firlej. The fair takes place on every first Saturday of the month. It is a regular cultural event aimed at people who are interested in exchanging, buying or selling analogue music carriers. This is an opportunity to supplement your collection of CDs, cassettes or vinyls, get some new recordings, exchange discs, or just meet and talk about music in a friendly atmosphere.

The biggest races of the season at Partynice

Saturday - Sunday, 9 am - 2.15 pm, Wrocław Race Course - Partynice, ul. Zwycięska 2, free admission

The hippodrome in Wroclaw will host the two biggest races in Poland. On Saturday the Grand Partynicka - the biggest hurdle race, and on Sunday the Grand Wroclaw Lottery Prize - the biggest steeplechase in Poland.

Volunteers' Picnic at Słodowa Island in Wroclaw

The event will inaugurate the fifth edition of the Lower Silesia Festival of Volunteering. The Volunteering Picnic includes meetings, discussions and numerous sports and recreational attractions for all comers. The program of this year's event includes many interesting proposals: sport competitions in the disciplines of The World Games 2017, a concert with music riddles performed by Michał Drezner, the founder of Music Wardrobe, as well as outdoor film screening and other attractions. An important point of the picnic will be an urban game, in which teams get to know the mysterious corners of the Old Town and its extraordinary history while competing for prizes.

Wroclaw Pageant of Hope

4 - 7.30 pm, start: ul. Ślężna (behind CH Arena), the Market Square, pl. Gołębi

Na Ratunek Dzieciom (Save the Children) Foundation for Children with Cancer and the municipal police once again organize the Pageant of Hope - a colourful parade for the Cape of Hope Clinic and the foundation's charges. The parade will include a horse patrol the city guard, a police orchestra, dance groups, street theatres and many other artists.

Dances at the Capitol

5 pm (Saturday), Capitol Music Theatre, tickets 20-30 PLN

Oldschool dance evenings with live music in the Capitol, in the backyard - in a spacious foyer, shielded with a glass roof. Guests have the opportunity to dance to popular hits from the repertoire of Polish and foreign stars. The first dance, in August, will feature singer Konrad Imiela, accompanied by a 4-person band. Open Air Cinema Krucza

Outdoor cinema Krucza is an initiative aimed at bringing cultural events to neighbourhoods, and not only to the centre of Wroclaw. It is carried out within the framework of ECC microGRANTS in summer 2015. As part of the project, 10 films - both for children and for adults - will be screened on the garage wall in the backyard of the building at ul. Krucza (at the intersection of Mielecka an housing estate Gajowice). Note! Please bring your own blankets or mats to sit on.

Special multimedia fountain shows at the Pergola

9.30 pm, Saturday-Sunday, the Pergola at the Centennial Hall

The fountain covers an area of approx. 1 ha and its bottom includes as many as 800 lights, 300 water jets and 3 fire nozzles.

Admission to the Pergola grounds is free. The shows can be seen from the observation deck of Wroclaw Congress Centre at 5 PLN/person. Tickets are available on the day of the events in the main lobby of Wroclaw Culture Centre (WCK).

Wrocław Gourmet Bazaar

Every Sunday throughout the year, dozens of great exhibitors offer high quality Polish and foreign products as well as certified goods. At the Bazaar, you can find products manufactured in a traditional, non-mass way. You can fill your basket bazaar with sour cream, cream butter, cottage cheese, cow's and goat's milk, organic poultry, certified vegetables, preserves, honey, oil, spices, juice, cheese, cold meats, pastries and other delicacies.

Festival of Lower Silesia Flavours

10 am, ul. Zwycięska 4-8 (by Hotel AGRO), free admission

Every Sunday, meet Lower Silesia farmers and producers. In addition to successful shopping, you can talk directly with the producers about their work and passion. The offer includes a wide range of vegetables, goat cheese, sheep's and cow's milk, cottage cheese, cheese ripened and regular, butter, buttermilk, milk, sausages, and cold pressed oils. There are tables, benches, blankets. On-site you can have a family picnic in a meadow. Free coffee, hot or cold, for all guests.

Flats' and Houses' Fair at the Centennial Hall

The largest event of its type in the region. Visitors can count on an extensive overview of the offer of developers currently building in Wroclaw and its vicinity. Sunday Film Mornings - 'Hello, School!'

After the summer break, Sunday Film and Workshop Mornings are back in the programme of WRO Art Centre. This is a unique offer for children and families, but also all lovers of animation, regardless of age and an opportunity to spend time creatively.
