Chess weekend in Galeria Dominikańska

12 am, Galeria Dominikańska, level -1, participation in the tournament is free, but registration is mandatory

White and black pawns, 64-checker chessboards, clocks and dozens of enthusiasts of 'the royal game' of all ages will take over Galeria Dominikańska this weekend.

Mood4Food - festival of food trucks

The hippodrome in Wroclaw will host the two biggest races in Poland. On Saturday the Grand Partynicka - the biggest hurdle race, and on Sunday the Grand Wroclaw Lottery Prize - the biggest steeplechase in Poland.

The event will inaugurate the fifth edition of the Lower Silesia Festival of Volunteering. The Volunteering Picnic includes meetings, discussions and numerous sports and recreational attractions for all comers. The program of this year's event includes many interesting proposals: sport competitions in the disciplines of The World Games 2017, a concert with music riddles performed by Michał Drezner, the founder of Music Wardrobe, as well as outdoor film screening and other attractions. An important point of the picnic will be an urban game, in which teams get to know the mysterious corners of the Old Town and its extraordinary history while competing for prizes.

Na Ratunek Dzieciom (Save the Children) Foundation for Children with Cancer and the municipal police once again organize the Pageant of Hope - a colourful parade for the Cape of Hope Clinic and the foundation's charges. The parade will include a horse patrol the city guard, a police orchestra, dance groups, street theatres and many other artists.

Outdoor cinema Krucza is an initiative aimed at bringing cultural events to neighbourhoods, and not only to the centre of Wroclaw. It is carried out within the framework of ECC microGRANTS in summer 2015. As part of the project, 10 films - both for children and for adults - will be screened on the garage wall in the backyard of the building at ul. Krucza (at the intersection of Mielecka an housing estate Gajowice). Note! Please bring your own blankets or mats to sit on.

Special multimedia fountain shows at the Pergola

9.30 pm, Saturday-Sunday, the Pergola at the Centennial Hall

The fountain covers an area of approx. 1 ha and its bottom includes as many as 800 lights, 300 water jets and 3 fire nozzles.

Admission to the Pergola grounds is free. The shows can be seen from the observation deck of Wroclaw Congress Centre at 5 PLN/person. Tickets are available on the day of the events in the main lobby of Wroclaw Culture Centre (WCK).
