Think Thank Lab Triennal drawing festival

The international festival of contemporary drawing Think Thank Lab Triennial will start on Thursday, December 3rd in Wroclaw. Exhibitions devoted to drawing and its place in art, as well as use in the modern world will be available, among others, in the Museum of Architecture, the National Museum, the Ossolineum and the Neon Gallery at the Academy of Fine Arts.

The main program of the Triennial will consist of four exhibitions. The Polish-Japanese 'Two Sticks' (Museum of Architecture) takes up the subject of drawing as continuous evolution. 'Arsenal Gallery's Notebook' is a presentation of works from the extensive collection of Bialystok Arsenal Gallery, which has been steadily building a collection of Polish contemporary art. In Wroclaw, we will see drawing sketches, videos and installations, objects that generate sound. You can see them in the Gallery Neon at the Academy.

Miejsce Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw

The exhibition 'Brudnopis' (Sketch Book) assembles première projects of four artists invited to participate in the project: Olaf Brzeski, Krzysztof Gil, Paweł Jarodzki and Kama Sokolnicka. Their projects will relate to the title sketch book, which normally includes drafts of drawings and texts, mostly for one's own needs, unofficial. We'll see it in Ossolineum.

The exhibition 'Imagine' includes a number of interesting, performer's speeches relating to the issues of drawing records, the results of which will be on display for the remaining seven days at the National Museum in Wroclaw. Well-known and highly esteemed artists from Europe and Asia were invited to the project.

The Think Tank Lab Triennial Festival will also include two contest exhibitions: an exhibition of graduation drawings from Polish art schools, as well as the open competition for cartoon and cartoon-like drawings announced in October. They will be shown in galleries Arttrakt and Mieszkanie Gepperta.

The aim of the exhibition is to present valuable and innovative activities in the area of drawing. We want to attempt to describe the current state of creative exploration in this area. Applications to the open competition may relate both to works created on paper using traditional drawing tools, as well as proposals prepared specially for the exhibition interiors of galleries Arttrakt and Mieszkanie Gepperta, where post-competition exhibition will be held in January 2016.

Part of this year's Think Tank Lab Triennial will also be exhibitions and accompanying events. The Wroclaw Contemporary Museum will present an exhibition of Pola Dwurnik, Song About Doctor And Other Drawings Entropia Gallery will host an exhibition: n_T R O P I A. Exercise In Drawing. The following two exhibitions are individual presentations of Japanese artists: Kengo Kito in BARBARA and Mitsutoshi Ban in the newly established contemporary art gallery BOSA.

Admission to the events is free. Think Thank Lab Triennial will run until 31 January 2016.

The festival is organized by the Academy of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the European Culture Capital WrocLaw 2016
