'Bridge of Spies' was shot in Wroclaw in November 2014. Kurkowa, Ptasia and Mennicza streets played Berlin from the Cold War period. The key scene of the exchange of prisoners on the Glienicke bridge on the Haweli river, which functioned as a border between West Berlin and East Germany during the Cold War, was also shot in Wroclaw. It was the place when the first exchange of spies between superpowers took place on the 10th of February 1962. The USA released the Russian spy Colonel Rudolf Abel in return for the pilot Francis Gary Powers.
