1. How are we cleaning up Wrocław? Be sure to read this!
- Larger sandbag deliveries (over 50 bags) should be taken to Wyboista Street (Leśnica), where we are creating a city sand storage centre.
- Property managers of multi-unit buildings who are transporting large numbers of sandbags are asked to deliver them directly to Wyboista Street.
- Smaller deliveries (vans, trailers) should go to Tarczyński Arena.
- Centres at Tarczyński Arena and Wyboista Street are open from 8 a.m. to midnight. Their operation is supported by the Territorial Defence Forces.
- Ekosystem company will draft a schedule of locations and dates for setting up containers for sandbags.
- When a container is full – please wait – we will replace it! Please do not leave bags next to the container.
- Do not put other items in the container – we are building Wrocław storage centre for sand, not for old furniture, sofas, or rubble!
- Do not overfill the containers – the hydraulic arms will not be able to lift them if they are too heavy.
- Do not leave bags next to the container – if the container(s) are full, they will be replaced. Let us know through the Ekosystem hotline if a replacement is needed!
- All bags will be removed, but it will take some time.
- If a bag next to your house or business premises is bothering you – bring it to us right away: 1-50 bags to the Stadium; 50 or more to Wyboista Street.
2. SWPS University offers psychological support for flood victims (SEE PHONE NUMBER)
SWPS University has launched a helpline for people affected by the flood who need psychological support.
Psychological consultations are provided by specialists (certified psychotherapists) from the Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy Clinic at SWPS University.
The helpline is available at 22 517 96 96, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The support is available free of charge.
3. These streets are still closed
- Średzkie Bridges – we need to inspect the support area of the arch beam (it's underwater).
- Ratyński, Brodzki, and Jarnołtowski Bridges – they are closed. The water level is too high for road workers to determine if the supports are damaged.
- Jeleniogórska Street – it is likely to open from Wednesday (water is still being pumped out).
- Ślęzoujście – the road will be closed for another 24 hours. Water from Ługowina river is being pumped along the road to the Odra River.
- Główna and Marszowicka Streets – traffic will be restored once sandbags are cleared from the edges of the road. City services are doing everything to reopen the streets as soon as possible, but hydrologists and road engineers must inspect their condition first.
4. Helping flood victims effectively
Flood victims no longer need water, clothes, or other material items. They already have all of that. Now, besides "helping hands," what is most needed is assistance with rebuilding and repairing homes and infrastructure.
Therefore, municipalities affected by the disaster have opened special accounts where donations can be made. These funds will be used to help flood victims and mitigate the disaster's effects.
The account numbers are available on municipalities’ websites.
Wrocław has also opened such an account to support affected cities and towns.
