The club-cum-gallery in the backyard of ul. Ruska 46c has been open since mid-November last year. There, you can have coffee, tea or a beer and watch the collection of glowing neon signs that adorn not only the interior of the gallery, but also, and perhaps above all, the backyard, where it is located.
Currently, the glowing adverts that were given a second life thanks to the commitment and work of the Foundation Neon Side hang on the façades of the two buildings surrounding the courtyard. This fall, more ads will be displayed on the building vis'a'vis Klubogaleria Neon Side.
'It will be a total of eleven neon signs, among which will be: 'Spozywczy' (grocery shop from ul. Spółdzielcza), Cinemas Warszawa and Dworcowe, 'Obuwie' (footwear from ul. Kosciuszki, one of the recently acquired), Hanka (from ul. Powstańców Śląski - after years of separation she will join Rumcajs), as well as such giants as Elam (from ul. Chorwacka), Tricot (ul. Inowrocławska) and Cuprum' - says Daniela Szymczak from the Foundation Neon Side. 'Most of them will be renovated especially for the occasion. In some, preserved are fragments of the original glass, which we will use during the renovation' she adds.
To the second part of the outdoor exhibition devoted is also a special blog where you can keep track of how the works are going. It will also include more detailed descriptions of the exhibited neon signs.
The project is carried out with funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the support of KGHM and the Municipality of Wrocław. Similarly to the first part of the exhibition, it is carried out in cooperation with Wroclawska Rewitalizacja.
