A winter landscape with bare trees and traces of birds in the snow, a summer at the seaside with the characteristic light of sunny days, or trees with branchy indigo tops. Dagmara Dominik-Ogińska perceives the world in all of its colours (including afterimages) and improves her photographs to perfection. In a cycle entitled ‘Unreal Landscapes’ she took a number of photographs in the natural environment, choosing the places and moments that may pass or change quickly. The author presses the shutter button at the moment that she wants to point out, particularly because many true works that occur in the natural world escape our attention.
Photographic sensitivity, imagination and the ability to create a mood in Dagmara Dominik-Ogińska’s works will surprise particularly those who didn’t know that the author of these photographs is a judge and chairs hearings every day. Her leisure occupation is as precise as her everyday concrete job (the processing of photographs requires much consistency and patience), but it gives much more freedom, particularly in artistic terms.
The exhibition ‘Unreal Landscapes’ will be available to visitors in the Za Szafą Gallery (ul. św. Marcina 4) until the 31st of August. The vernissage will take place on Friday the 31st of July at 6:00 p.m.
