Economic jungle or how not to get lost? Guide for all – part I

"Economic jungle" was a project addressed to students from Wrocław lower secondary schools. It had a form of extracurricular classes during which the young people learnt the issues related to management, entrepreneurship and finance. The purpose of the classes was to make the young people familiar with the functioning of the economy, to teach them how to manage in the labour market and to encourage them to be active.

The young people's guide in the economy jungle was friendly Kali, and the following subjects were implemented under the 1st part of the project:

"Kali goes to the jungle" – introduction to the project "Following Kali" – Curriculum Vitae "Kali be good, Kali be needed" – cover letter "Kali face to face with the Chief" – the interview "Chief's dilemmas and Kali's dilemmas" – contracts with the employer "Kali want to help" – volunteering "Kali's last resort" – labour office "PIT PIT with the Great Bwana" – annual PIT tax return.

The scenarios of the classes have been prepared in a way that ensures their dynamic, interactive course. Their objective was to enable the students, after the completion of the course, to analyse job offers, build a CV and cover letter, make a self-presentation, know essential elements of an employment contract, know how to complete a tax return.

The implementation of the classes was covered by co-financing from the National Bank of Poland.

The project ended on 31 December 2010. There is ongoing work on the second edition.
