Actions in relation to the coronavirus in Wroclaw [REPORT OF APRIL 14]

The fact, that you stayed at home, is a sign of great understanding of the situation we have these days – said the Mayor of Wrocław Jacek Sutryk in the daily summary. – We will slowly get going, however, let’s not get overexcited. We still need to take great care of ourselves.

Statistics

14 new coronavirus infections in Lower Silesia
723 – that many people have been infected with COVID-19 already in our region
7202 – the number of coronavirus infections in the country.

Supporting the health care service

The city will give the Marshal of the Voivodeship almost 1 mln PLN for the fight with coronavirus pandemic. This money will go to medical facilities in our region.

Additionally, the city will give personal protective equipment to the ambulance service of Wrocław:

5,5 thousand gloves
5 thousand surgical masks
0,5 thousand protective glasses
0,5 thousand protection helmets
over 300 litres of sanitizer.

Suspension of mass events until August 31, 2020.

The start of the Wrocław Social Intervention Program

Wrocław Social Intervention Program contains actions benefiting family, culture, sport and NGO sector. The city plans to spend 12 mln PLN for this aid package until the end of the year. The program will support mainly the people and entities which face difficulties and limitations because of the epidemy. The package is open and will be modified accordingly as the situation changes.

We support local companies and projects

An example of that is the City Public Library which will continue to buy books from local publishing houses, local shops and warehouses - said the Mayor of Wrocław.
On April 15, at 8 pm a new social projects is starting. It is a series of online lectures for parents WROdzina. The lectures will cover supporting and raising children during the hard time of the coronavirus epidemy. The project is coordinated by WCRS.

Tickets-contributions for the Panthers visual game

The Polish champions in American football - Panthers Wrocław - were supposed to play three games in front of their own audience, yet all three have been cancelled. Now Panthers start the sale of special tickets-contributions, which will help the club to survive in this difficult time.

If you have excess food after Easter, which you won’t eat and there is a risk of it wasting - give it to the charity “Weź pomóż”. Volunteers will collect the products and pass them on to the people in need.
