Pandemic restrictions change from 15th December. New limits. Remote learning

‘The level of coronavirus infections in Poland has remained on the level of ca. 23,000 for one week and a half and does not decrease. This has become particularly alarming when the omicron mutation appeared. Therefore, we decided to introduce new restrictions concerning the pandemic,’ announced the Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski. What will change from 15th December?

Actions in three areas

The first area concerns the draft act giving employers the possibility of verifying their employees’ health on the basis of coronavirus tests submitted by the latter. Such tests can be performed free of charge – a referral to such a test will be issued when you fill in the form available on the website of the Ministry of Health.

The second area concerns compulsory vaccinations – from 1st March 2022, health care employees, teachers and members of uniformed services will have to become vaccinated.

The third area concerns new epidemic restrictions.

Reduction of limits: cinemas, shops, restaurants, churches from 15th December

  • The occupancy limits in cinemas, theatres, hotels, restaurants, sports facilities, sacred buildings etc. are 30%. Exceeding the limit in the aforementioned facilities is allowed if the entrepreneur/owner proves that he verifies vaccination certificates of his customers/guests.
  • From 15th December, a limit of up to 75% of occupied seats will be introduced in public transport.
  • On 15th December, discos, clubs and dance floors will be closed, excluding 31st December – on 31st December/1st January, maximum 100 persons will be allowed to participate in New Year’s Eve events in public establishments; however, vaccinated persons will not be included in this limit.
  • From 20th December 2021 till 9th January 2022, remote teaching will be provided. Educational facilities will be reopened to pupils from 10th January 2022. The above does not refer to nurseries and kindergartens.

Compulsory tests for other household members

From 15th December, compulsory tests for other members of the household of persons infected with COVID-19 and staying on quarantine will be introduced, regardless of whether these healthy household members already have a Covid certificate.
