Wroclaw Christmas illumination this weekend

This year's Wroclaw Christmas illumination is using LED lighting exclusively, which is both sustainable and durable. LED technology also gives good light concentration and intriguing visual effects. The system is going to illuminate the city this weekend.

As usual, this year's Christmas ornaments in Wroclaw will feature one leitmotif, namely that of a star, which is also the traditional attribute of Polish carol singers.we all Stars will appear in various forms, arrangements and colours on over 300 decorations which are designed to illuminate the city until February 2016.

This year's illuminations will be distributed around the Old Town, Ostrów Tumski and the Centennial Hall's vicinity.

This is how the Christmas tree was illuminated last year:

Colourful illumination will be suitable complemented with Christmas trees. The largest of all will be mounted in Rynek and Plac Grunwaldzki. The former will be illuminated by Santa Claus himself already on 4 December. The tree will be shrouded by illuminated fog in white, yellow and purple that provides a backdrop for little twinkling stars and 200 starflash decorations. Plac Grunwaldzki is waiting for a live 23-metre spruce, the largest of all Christmas trees in the city. The spruce has just arrived from the Świeradów Forest Inspectorate in the Izera Mountains. The tree will be surrounded by 18 smaller spruce trees scattered all over the roundabout.Christmas trees will also appear in Plac Nowy Targ, Plac Katedralny, Plac Uniwersytecki and in Stary Rynek in Psie Pole.

Some of the Wroclaw fountains will also transform for Christmas: in Plac Gołębi, Plac Orląt Lwowskich and Plac Jana Pawła II.

Some of the decorations ordered for ul Kazimierza Wielkiego between Krupniczea and Szewska will not be used due to the construction work in Świdnickie Underpass.

This is how the Christmas tree was illuminated two years ago:

They come in thousands, but they do not consume a lot of energy. The illumination is using LED lights exclusively, which are both durable and environmentally friendly. They give powerful light concentration and intriguing visual effects.
