New Hive electric scooter rental system

Since 11th April, a private electric scooter rental system run by the Hive company has been in operation in Wroclaw. The inhabitants of Wroclaw can make use of 400 vehicles.

Until now, Hive e-scooters have been available only in Warsaw until now. Hive scooters were introduced for the first time as a pilot solution in Lisbon; currently they are available also on the streets of Athens and Paris.  Their pilot program has also been started in Milan, Hamburg and Munich this week.

Wroclaw as second Polish city

‘Wroclaw is the second Polish metropolis after Warsaw where we are introducing our services. The first weeks in the capital of Poland showed us how willing Poles are to use e-scooters. We have decided on Wroclaw, because it is a dynamic city investing in modern ecological solutions that are coherent with the guiding idea of our brand. We are also happy with our co-operation with city authorities in introducing our electromobility service in Wroclaw,’ says Tristan Torres Velat, Hive’s CEO.

Electric scooters ensure a fast and comfortable ride and an ideal complement of available means of public transport.

How to rent and what is the price?

You can rent e-scooters using a free application operating on Android and IOS systems. Then you can find available e-scooters on the map – they can be unblocked by scanning the received QR code.

The starting fee for renting an e-scooter is 2.50 PLN, and the cost per minute of use is 45 groszy. In order to finish your ride, just park in a safe place and click “Finish ride” – the application makes it possible to park a scooter for a period of 30 minutes without having to finish and resume the ride, and no other person than the logged user will be allowed to use the scooter during that time.

As we can read in the press release, the priority of Hive is to promote safe and responsible riding. Therefore, the company advises users to put helmets on before each ride, to leave scooters in such a way that other traffic participants are not endangered and to adapt their speed to riding conditions. The Segway ES4 model is the basis of Hive’s fleet, allowing users to move around the city quickly and comfortably at a speed of maximum 25 km/h.
