On 27 and 28 September 2014 on Wyspa Słodowa we will be promoting a healthy lifestyle among Vratislavians. The eighth edition of the Wrocław Health Promotion Days will take place with the slogan 'More Health, More Life'. Planned features include advice from specialist doctors, sporting and artistic displays and tastings of culinary delicacies.

By bike through Wrocław to Wyspa Słodowa

The event will begin at 11.00 am at South Park, from where a cycle peloton will set off heading for Wyspa Słodowa. The route for the ride measures c. 9 km. At the start each participant will receive a 'sachet of life', mineral water, a lanyard, a spoke card and a sticker with a number (allowing for the receipt of prizes). As well as the attractive prizes there are cups to be won and wonderful memories to be taken away. The ride will be protected by the police and city guard.

See you on the Island!

The ceremonial opening of the 8th Wrocław Health Promotion Days will take place on Saturday at 12.00 noon. At the site it will be possible to obtain free advice from specialist doctors, psychologists, educationalists, speech therapists, dieticians and physiotherapists. Professionals will be responding patiently to all questions, on subjects including cardiovascular conditions, diabetes and metabolic disorders, prevention of addiction, the feeding of children, cancer in adults and promotion of mental health. It will also be possible on site to check your body composition, measure arterial blood pressure and learn breast self-examination. Those interested will also be able to take part in demonstrations of first aid. Everyone will be able to find out how to call an ambulance correctly and proceed with regard to an unconscious individual, as well as practise heart massage and artificial respiration on mannequins.

On the first of the 8th Wrocław Health Promotion Days there will also be an opportunity to bag presents. It is enough to collect a card at the organizers' tent and perform 'health-promoting' activities for which points will be awarded, and points can then be exchanged for prizes (including skipping ropes, first-aid kits, tickets for partners and much more). Taking place on the same day will be a drive for the voluntary donation of blood.
