Konrad Cholewka and Ryszard Szymański awarded by renaultpassion.pl

Konrad Cholewka, a Transportation Design graduate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, came out second in the competition Renault Passion for Design & Innovation. Another resident of Wroclaw, graphic artist and designer Ryszard Szymański came out third. 53 different project were submitted for the competition.

"The interior of Konrad Cholewka's design is created in such a way that we can shape if freely from a position we ourselves decide to choose. We can create a synergy effect with the car from every position and every configuration there is. The car's silhouette in Cholewka's design is just the way it should be envisioned and executed by a designer," says Krystyna Łuczak-Surówka, a design historian and critic, lecture at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and a member of the jury in the competition.

The organisers emphasise that Konrad Cholewka's design catches the eye with its open, modular and free space that can be customised to each and every user's individual needs. He received a 5-thousand PLN award.

Autonomous car

Renault Liberta brings an autonomous car design for the years 2020–2030. The interior was designed in such a way that it does not impose any specific seating or travelling arrangement. The open, modular and free space is its defining characteristic. The car can be navigated with with a touch screen or tablet.

"I followed the competition specifications in creating the design. This autonomous and electrical-powered vehicle shows a differed stylistic approach. I came up with the Liberta design to meet Renault's specifications and style," says Konrad Cholewka.

"We chose Szymański's design because it's streamlined and adjusted to the individual needs of the users. It also relies on the technology that can be considered the future of the automotive industry," says Wojciech Sokołowski, a car designer and a shareholder of the SOKKA design studio. Ryszard Szymański came out as third as received a 2-thousand PLN award.

Electric-powered from plasma generator

Szymański's autonomic vehicle is powered by a plasma generator, which gives the car an unlimited mileage. It is also safeguarded with "Łągiewki" brakes and bumpers, which absorb the kinematic energy of the vehicles and makes the seatbelts or air bags virtually unnecessary. "The car's silhouette is inspired by the streamlined shapes of marine fauna. As the name of the design, Concorde is suggestive of the car's versatility and advanced technology. It also brings to mind a supersonic aircraft," says Ryszard Szymański.
