On the building site of the new school for 1,000 pupils and 200 preschoolers, excavators appeared to perform the first earth works. The plan assumes also the reconstruction of ul. Asfaltowa to improve the comfort and safety of arriving at the school. Drivers will have 104 parking places at their disposal.
The new school will have over 40 classrooms, including specialist rooms. Apart from that, day-care, administrative and utility rooms will be provided.
The building will be divided into five parts dedicated to children and young people in various age groups (kindergarten, grades 1-3, grades 4-8). The school premises will include also a sport, fun and leisure zone with a football field, an athletic track, a long jump ground, playgrounds for children and a silent zone for learning.
According to the plan of the Major Architekci studio, classrooms will be additionally lit from the east and from the west. One of the assumptions was to avoid exposure to the south, which would have a negative impact on lessons, particularly during heats. The contractor for the investment is ABW Budownictwo. The cost of works is 48 million PLN. The Wroclaw Commune intended to appropriate approx. 66.5 million PLN for the construction of the school.
