They will help entrepreneurs develop. European Digital Innovation Hub “WRO4diglTal” has been launched

Participants of the conference inaugurating the activity of the European Digital Innovation Hub – WRO4digITal.

On 7th February this year, the European Digital Innovation Hub “WRO4diglTal” inaugurated its activity in the Wroclaw Technology Park (WTP). It will help Lower Silesian companies and organisation acquire necessary knowledge, implement digital solutions and raise funding for these projects.

The European Digital Innovation Hub – WRO4diglTal EDIH Wroclaw has been brought to life by a consortium of 22 institutions offering comprehensive support in the digital transformation process. Companies from Lower Silesia and public administration units have an opportunity to consult experts for free and adapt their production or service provision processes to current digitisation trends.

Helpful experts and technology providers

According to Emilia Mazgajczyk, PhD Eng., the primary goal of this project is the digital transformation of Lower Silesian economy.

Emilia Mazgajczyk: ‘We want enterprises to increase their digital maturity and, above all, to learn about its current condition in order to improve it. We are a hub of experts and providers of technology and, above all, knowledge. We will support the entire region and Poland as a whole on this path to digitisation.

The primary goals of the new consortium include also the improvement of competitiveness of local companies and the increase of availability of qualified personnel. WRO4digITal should also accelerate the modernisation of public administration.

Around 200 companies and institutions will benefit

Maciej Potocki, the president of the Wroclaw Technology Park, says that the Wroclaw digital hub was created to support micro-, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.

Maciej Potocki: ‘Its goal is to help all small companies offer their services in the digital world and to support their digital development. We are still at the beginning of this path, so we consider it necessary to support the smallest ones. We believe that around 200 entrepreneurs from Wroclaw and Lower Silesia as a whole will benefit from this support. Along with other hubs, not only from Poland, we will actually provide these services to the entire country.

One of 150 such places in Europe

WRO4digITal is a member of European Digital Innovation Hubs – a trans-European network serving as a basic tool of the European Commission for the support and co-ordination of the transformation of the EU’s digital economy.

According to Jakub Mazur, Deputy Mayor of Wroclaw, the establishment of the European Digital Innovation Hub WRO4digITal is also of huge importance for the city.

Jakub Mazur: ‘It is one of 150 places on the map of Europe which creates the accessibility of digital solutions. In practice, this means that we will be able to reach for solutions at a global level. Digital transformation requires knowledge, competence and co-operation. All of these things have been achieved here.
