The first to disappear were the tickets to the May show of the Wiener Philharmoniker under the baton of Semyon Bychkov (the most expensive VIP ticket cost as much as 500 PLN, the cheapest ticket was 30 PLN), and the concert of the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach, featuring the world-renowned pianist Lang Lang (February 18). Unfortunately, there are also no more tickets available for an evening with the legendary jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis (Feb. 11).
But there's still good news. You can still buy tickets to a concert of a famous French pianist Hélène Grimaud, who is about to play two piano concertos (Bach and Mozart's) on January 13th with the famous orchestra of Basel. Tickets cost from 25 to 130 PLN, and it is a good investment, because the artist never ceases to surprise musically (and in her private life, she is fascinated by wolves and tames some of them).
Among the orchestras, tickets to performances of which are still available are, above all, the Budapest Festival Orchestra with the unparalleled Iván Fischer (March 18th) and the London Symphony Orchestra with Antonio Pappano (May 25th). Both ensembles will play the symphonies of Gustav Mahler: the Budapesters the Third Symphony, and the Londoners, the Sixth.
Among the jazz concerts, you can still decide to purchase a ticket to a concert of American singer Diane Reeves (April 6th) - ticket prices range from 90 to 180 PLN, and the solo concert of Brad Mehldau (March 12th) and one of Dave Holland Trio (March 5th). Prices to the last two concerts are yet to be negotiated.
