Concerts in November: see our tips

Last month we reported that a genuine tornado of concert attractions would start in October. What to write about November, then? Perhaps that it is still much unrest out there? And that\'s because even if the number of worthy events is not bigger, it is certainly not visibly smaller either. Out of dozens of concerts announced in November we have chosen those that you do not want to miss.

Jazz/Music of the world

If you like jazz, or jazzy vibes, you will surely be glad to know that Anna Maria Jopek is coming to visit our city (November 11, National Music Forum). All the more so, that she will perform a special concert on the Independence Day, accompanied by musicians such as Stanislaw Sojka, Mateusz Pospieszalski or Marek Napiórkowski. An event of even greater prominence will be a performance of a bass guitar master Marcus Miller with Leszek Możdżer and the aforementioned Marek Napiórkowski (November 20, National Music Forum).

On the other hand, in November, enthusiasts of the so-called music of the world will have an opportunity to listen to David Krakauer and his jazz sextet live, with their repertoire consisting of the artist's rendition of melodies from films such as 'Cabaret,' 'Sophie's Choice' and 'The Pianist' (22 November, the White Stork Synagogue). And those who are into vibes much more exotic than the klezmer music, will have the opportunity to see in action the famous Whirling Dervishes of Syria (November 24, the White Stork Synagogue). This is their only performance in Poland; it should be added that none other than Noureddine Khourchid himself will appear on stage with them.

Rock

Fans of Kazik won't certainly miss his visit to Wroclaw and will attend a concert of Kult, traditionally active autumn, with pleasure (November 12, Eter). Two days later, you can check the concert shape of Skubas, the artist, who performed in the tiny Łykend Club not so long ago (November 14, Sala Gotycka). On the same day, fans of hard rock and metal will see the legendary band TSA (Od Zmierzchu Do Świtu). They still play in their original composition and still can't release a new album. After all, 'Proceder' is already ten years old! But hey, what's most important is that the members of Tajne Stowarzyszenie Abstynentów (Secret Society of Teetotallers) still want to meet with the audience.

Polish rock legends are surprisingly viable. This will certainly be proven at the end of the month by Lady Pank (November 29, the Centennial Hall), and T. Love, led by the tireless Muniek, will definitely live up to expectations (November 21, Sala Gotycka). Between these two concerts, it is worth to sacrifice an evening to see Litza, currently in his second youth, and his rousing rock-minded teenagers with Luxtorpeda (November 22, Sala Gotycka).

Metal

Enthusiasts of guitar bashing will get a gift from fate in November. Actually, it's from concert agencies and is not really a gift, but still, the opportunity to see at least a few very interesting artists. These certainly may include bands such as Blaze Of Perdition and Mord'A'Stigmata (November 11, Liverpool). An even greater attraction, and for a more mainstream audience will probably be the show of the famous Brazilian Sepultura (November 13, Eter). Actually, the event was to be held in Sala Gotycka first, but the interest was so great that organizers had to move it to the much more capacious Eter.

Sepultura is not the last band on the list of attendees at the November parade of metal stars. Wroclaw will also host the Swedish death metal classics, i.e. Grave. Coming to our city with them (probably for the first time) are the American band Malevolent Creation (November 25, Alibi). Also, to support the Wroclaw metal bands is the Swiss band Samael (November 27, Alibi). During this tour, the band will play the entire album 'Ceremony Of Opposites,' and so their old fans, if they haven't crossed the band out after albums 'Passage' and 'Eternal,' can be satisfied. The end of the month brings another visit to our city, that of the charismatic and witty in his own unique way Jelonek (November 29, Sala Gotycka).

Stage music/Pop/Sung poetry

Edyta Geppert is coming to sing in Wroclaw (November 11, Radio Wroclaw Hall). Fans of Andrzej Piaseczny (November 22, Wroclaw Congress Centre) and Kayah will see their favourites on stage, too. The latter will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the album 'Kamien' (November 27, the WCK). The invariably stage-ready master, Michal Bajor will perform on November 29 (Impart).

On the other hand, XxanaxX will show us the very best of pop (November 11, Sala Gotycka), as will Artur Rojek (November 16, National Music Forum), who apparently still sings songs from his only solo album (nevertheless, it is sensational!), as well as the outstanding Bokka who, for a change, can finally boast her new album 'Don't Kiss And Tell.'

Lyrical song will be represented in our city by Rykarda Parasol (November 9, Sala Gotycka), promoting her latest album 'The Color Of Destruction.' In the last days of the month, Grzegorz Turnau will also drop by to visit for a gala concert of the 39. Night Meetings with Literature and Music (November 28, Impart).

Festivals

There's something for everyone here. For hip-hop fans, for example, the one-day Hip-Hop Festival 2015 at the Centennial Hall (November 20). The line-up features such giants as Tede, Trzeci Wymiar and O.S.T.R. For enthusiasts of jazz - Jazztopad (November 3, 21-29, the National Music Forum), featuring, e.g. Abdullah Ibrahim, Trilok Gurtu, Dave Holland and John Scofield. For fans of industrial music - the 14th Wroclaw Industrial Festival (November 5-8, Sala Gotycka), featuring performers such as Sol Invictus, Merzbow and Rigor Mortiss. And for those who treat music primarily as an energy booster for good dance fun - One Love Sound Fest 2015 (November 21, the Centennial Hall). This last event will feature, among others, Johnny Osbourne and Omar Perry, Richie Campbell, Junior Kelly, as well as Bednarek and Grubson.
