The voting lasted from 20th September till 7th October 2019. You chose among 235 different projects – investments. You have decided what we will spend 25 million PLN on.
‘In this year’s Wroclaw Citizens’ Budget (WBO), we had much fewer paper voices. But in the case of electronic voting, things were quite the opposite. In previous editions, such votes never went beyond 50,000, and this year a record was broken with nearly 90,000 votes. We can say that inhabitants expressed very strong interest in projects submitted for WBO 2019,’ says Bartłomiej Świerczewski, the head of the Department of Social Affairs.
Around 10,000 votes were submitted by young people under 18 years of age who voted for the first time. The greatest winner of this year’s WBO is the project of creation of the Henrykowski Park, which integrated social activists, the Municipality of Wroclaw and the Polish State Railways and won over 6,000 votes. What next?
‘In fact, we are beginning to implement the projects already now. We are dividing them into units that will be responsible for them. This will be followed by meetings with leaders in order to agree upon the detailed scope of work, and then we will prepare documentation and announce tenders, and the implementation of projects will start‘, explains Sebastian Wolszczak, the deputy head of the Subdepartment of Social Participation.
