The Synergy Awards 2026 recognises outstanding examples of collaboration that contribute to the development of Wroclaw and the region. It is organised by the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency.
The competition was open to projects carried out by at least two independent organisations or individuals. There was only a requirement that one of the companies involved in the project should be based in Lower Silesia. Applications could concern initiatives that had been completed or were currently underway, and no entry fee had to be paid.
The awards were decided by an independent panel of experts. The most important criteria were the quality and depth of the partnership, the tangible impact of the project on the development of Lower Silesia, and the sustainability and scalability of the results achieved.
Five categories, one idea: collaboration that drives Wroclaw forward
In this year’s competition, awards were presented in five categories:
- Business x Business – ZW Automation and Jurgen Klose Industrietechnik
- Business × Science – Nokia and Wroclaw University of Technology
- Business × Society / Education – Coventry University Wroclaw, GlobalLogic Poland, Robo Friends Tech and GERIO
- Business × Public Sector – Smart City Wroclaw, InPost and Rescue Centre
- Synergy First – Ossolineum and Scanway; WrocDocSoc Agreement of Wroclaw Doctoral Schools; East West Forum; and Bridge Foundation
The winners received their awards at the Synergy Awards Gala, which was the culmination of this year’s Made in Wroclaw event.
Dr Magdalena Okulowska, President of the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency: ‘This award and this competition are a very natural offshoot of “Made in Wroclaw”, because we talk about this collaboration and co-creation all the time on this occasion. Here, at the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency, we have a great deal of synergy, too; we support one another, and all these important projects we carry out would not be possible if we worked alone.’
Fair assessment of applications
The course of the competition and the fair assessment of applications were overseen by the substantive partner, SDZLegal SCHINDHELM. Tomasz Szarek, Managing Partner at SDZLegal SCHINDHELM, emphasised that the selection of nominees and winners had been carried out in accordance with the rules.
Tomasz Szarek: ‘We are proud and delighted to co-organise an event which has made a significant mark on our city over the last few years and is one of the most recognisable events in Wroclaw.’
ARAW is celebrating 20 years of existence
The gala was also an opportunity to mark the 20th anniversary of the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency.
Dr Magdalena Okulowska: ‘For the past twenty years, ARAW has evolved along with Wroclaw. It addresses the needs of businesses and residents alike and gives rise to new projects and new partnerships. And all of this because we can work alongside numerous institutions, all universities and a vast number of partners; as an organisation responsible for guiding businesses and residents through the intricacies of how the city operates, we simply have to rely on such support. And we thank everyone who has given this support to us.’
This year’s edition of Made in Wroclaw was held under the slogan ‘ADAPT. LEAD. REPEAT’ – a business that never stands still. The Synergy Awards embodies this concept by recognising initiatives that bring together different communities and create value through collaboration.
