The friendly match was the last one in the teams’ pre-season preparations for the league campaign. Around 43,000 people from over 50 different countries had a good time in the stands. Fans could admire as many as six goals: AC Milan won 4–2.
The clash between these highly successful teams meant that the eyes of sporting Europe were fixed on Wroclaw and Tarczyński Arena. According to media reports, over 2,100 articles (more than 1,600 of which were from abroad) concerning the Super Match were published between 10 and 17 August. In total, they reached around 350 million people! The advertising value equivalent (AVE) in this case is 12.5 million zlotys.
A few days before the match, journalists had an opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the preparations for the event and see the organisational aspect of the run-up to the major event. During a special visit, they toured areas that are not normally accessible to supporters, such as the control room and the pitch.
Members of the Tarczyński Arena team, including those responsible for safety and pitch preparation, spoke about the preparations, the day-to-day workflow and the challenges involved in organising the event.
The journalists had an opportunity to meet the people who ensure the smooth functioning of the stadium and who, thanks to their experience and dedication, help to create world-class events. The visit also resulted in media coverage which achieved very good results – information kits produced after the meeting reached a total audience of over three million people.
The Super Match attracted both Polish and foreign fans to Wroclaw, and they visited more than just Tarczyński Arena. The whole city buzzed with sporting excitement: from the fan zone on Plac Wolności, through hotels and restaurants, to streets and public transport.
The presence of around 43,000 fans from over 50 countries demonstrated just how powerful events of this calibre are and how significantly they can impact the life and economy of an entire city.
Once again, Tarczyński Arena Wroclaw marked its presence in the elite of sports and concert venues. It is worth noting that, only within the last few years, the stadium has hosted the UEFA Conference League final, the Usyk v Dubois boxing match, a match featuring the Polish national team, and concerts by Ed Sheeran, Dawid Podsiadło, Andrea Bocelli and others.
