The abbreviated name marks the festival's metamorphosis. Wroclawski Sound used to promote Wroclaw-based musicians. Impart hosted both intriguing debutants and more experienced artists. Over the last few years, the festival audience enjoyed both ambitious greenhorns and celebs such as Job Karma, L.U.C., Őszibarack, Kormorany or OCN. As of this year, the festival ceases to focus exclusively on Wroclaw. The organisers are planning to follow the course of the Odra and open the festival to artists from other towns and cities by the river. This also means artists from neighbouring countries, such as Germany and the Czech Republic (Czech artists are expected to perform this year) The Artistic Director of the festival has also changed. The position will be taken over by Łukasz Głośny, who worked as the Artistic Director of the first edition of the Wroclawski Sound Festival, set up a popular music club Droga do Mekki and cooperated with the Musical Theatre from 2008–2010. The rest remains the same. WROsound is a guarantee of good and extremely diverse music, perfect organisation (bands will give alternate performances on large and small stages, so that the fans do not have to wait for the artists and technicians to prepare) and an even greater atmosphere. A number of intriguing artists will perform this year.
WROsound highlights
On Friday(24 October), the event will open with a performance from NOTOPOP , who will play a mixture of pop and anti-pop music. They will be followed by BABU KRÓL, who will promote their new LP Baobab. Then the stage will be taken by POPRZYTULA, a pop trip-hop band who have made their name at X-Factor; WE DRAW A, an electro-pop duet who hit the big time at the last year's OFF Festival; and, to close the evening, NERVY: this new band formed by Agim Dżejlili from Őszibarack, Igor Boxx from Skalpel and Jan Młynarski will perform with a brass band.
The second day of the festival (25 October, Saturday) will start with a performance from the veterans of Polish alternative music KRISTEN, who will promote their new alboum The Secret Map. Then the stage will be taken by hip-hop artists (MILO MAILO & RIDDIM BANDITS) who will be followed by PETER J. BIRCH , a country artist popular in Wroclaw, and his band THE RIVER BOAT BAND. Birch will present his latest LP Yearn. Later on the stage will be taken by the saxophonist Witold Sikora and his jazz-electro-drum'n'bas band BRESLAUX, and the guests from the Czech Republic, such as the surf-rock PURE CITYZEN. The grand finale of the festival will feature ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC BEAT SESSIONS & GUEST, a project from DJ Spisek Jednego, who has managed to gather a number of great musicians supported by such eminent guests as Dave Liebman, Natalia Lubrano, Paulina Przybysz, W.E.N.A or Abradab and hit the big time both In Poland and throughout the world.
