Christmas trees are all over the city
As usual, a 10-metre Christmas tree will be assembled in pl. Uniwersytecki, or equally tall, natural spruce, available for the residents of the old Market in Psie Pole.
There will be 3 new trees, too. A 10-metre cone of led strings will light up the Nowy Targ square, a led fir tree will appear at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Ostrów Tumski, and a natural, 20-metre tree with a company of 18 small spruces will decorate the Grunwaldzki square and the vicinity of Reagan's Roundabout.
Illuminations in the streets of Wrocław
These aren't all Christmas attractions in the city space that are ours to admire until the end of February. Apart from Christmas trees, starting next week installed will be illuminations, first in the area of the Main Square, and next in pl. Solny and ul. Świdnicka, and also at the square at the Centennial Hall.
There will be no colourful lights this year at pl. Kościuszki, ul. Świdnicka (from "Renoma" to the Arcade), or at ul. Kazimierza Wielkiego (from ul. Krupnicza to ul. Szewska), due to ongoing roadworks. However, decorated will be fountains at pl. Gołębi, pl. Orląt Lwowskich and pl. Jana Pawła II.
Turoń star will shine
This year's theme is the star, usually carried by Turoń, one of the main characters of carolling groups that visit Polish houses from Christmas to sometimes as late as Easter. The majority of ca. 300 planned decorations will bear the star leitmotif.
