The establishment of the Wroclaw Tourist Organisation will allow the city to join the legal system and structure of co-operation within the scope of the Polish Tourist Organisation. Among the biggest Polish cities, Wroclaw has been the only one without a local tourist organisation so far.
The Wroclaw Tourist Organisation was established by 16 founding members. They are persons connected with tourist attractions of Wroclaw, the business sector, NGOs, transport or the academic community.
‘Our primary goal is to integrate the local community dealing with tourism so that we could consolidate our actions. We have much work to do, but we have clearly set directions of development. One of our plans is to set up a website. We also want to promote ourselves at fairs, conduct market surveys or issue promotional materials together. Today we are making our first step and, at the same time, inviting other partners to join this initiative,’ says Agnieszka Szymerowska, the president of the Wroclaw Tourist Organisation.
The tourist market looks much different due to the pandemic. Tourist activity has decreased by 70–90%.
