The Fridee surfboard has been created for avid surfers who cannot enjoy the benefits of sea waves every day. With this surfboard, you do not have to go to the seaside and wait for a favourable wind to enjoy surfing. Its electric drive makes surfing possible also on the river or lake, where it is difficult to come across any waves.
According to its creators, the Fridee surfboard was designed with an emphasis on user-friendliness. Thanks to the inclusion of a few innovative technical solutions, newbies can easily start their jetsurfing adventure.
River and lake surfing
The founders stress that their goal is to create an electric surfboard that will provide a maximally similar user experience to the classic surfboard, but it could be surfed in any kind of water area.
It was inspired mainly by a combination of the water sport passion of its creators, which dates back to their childhood years, and the technical expertise gained in the course of their long-year professional activity. Having followed the water sport market for years, they became particularly interested in the powered surfboard market. It is still a young, dynamically growing market, which bodes well for the future of surfing. In their opinion, Wroclaw can also become a real surfing centre.
‘At the height of Wroclaw, the Oder is ideal for surfing, as long as you use the Fridee surfboard,’ says Łukasz Król.
At least 1.4 million PLN are needed
Using their own funds, the Wroclaw startup has prepared a concept of the surfboard and a company strategy in the last two years. Apart from that, it created a zero prototype and established contact with suppliers, business partners and industry experts. It has also built a base of potential customers and completed a team. Today the founders are looking for investors or other methods of financing, because further stages of work require higher financial expenses. It takes at least 1.4 million PLN to create a profitable product. And the financial plan that assumes bringing the company to the profitability stage amounts to 4.4 million PLN.
