23. Wrocław Good Books' Fair

Saturday, 10.00-19.00, Sunday, 10.00-16.00, the Main Train Station

It's for the second time that the event will be organized at Wrocław Main Train Station, and it will feature over 130 publishers and many renowned authors, such as Andrzej Stasiuk, Marek Krajewski, Olga Tokarczuk, Prof. Michał Heller and the laureates of the Angelus Award - Jurij Andruchowycz and Mykoła Riabczuk. The organizers of Wrocław Good Books' Fair also remembered about the youngest readers. Each year authors of best fairy tales are invited to the event, specially for them. Additionally, kids can listen to stories in a fairytale scenery of a specially prepared play room, and watch theatre performances under the watchful eye of babysitters.

Christmas traditions in Spain

The evening will be a great opportunity to get to know Spanish culture. Guests will learn the Spain-specific traditions, and see what goes on in every Spanish home on New Year's Eve. Many other attractions await both kids and adults.

35th anniversary concert of Wrocław Chamber Orchestra Leopoldinum

One by one, the musicians were finishing their parts, blowing one of the candles that lit the pulpit, and were stepping down the stage, where a dwindling orchestra was going through the last bars of the "Farewell" Symphony. In the end only two violinists remained on the stage: the concert master and the composer. This is what the world's première of Haydn's Symphony in F-minor looked like, in front of the surprised prince Nicolaus Esterhazy.

Kendo workshops

Wrocław Kendo Ryushinkai Club welcomes children (from the age of 5), teenagers and adults for kendo workshops. Information about entries to the kendo programme will also be available on the spot. Also, everyone is also welcome to just watch the training. Participants are required to wear a comfortable sports outfit.

St. Nicolaus' Day Film Morning & Christmas exhibition of interactive sound installations

WRO Art Centre, Widok 7, 12.30, admission free

WRO Art Centre offers various St. Nicolaus' Day attractions. After film screenings, the audience of all ages will have the unique opportunity to play freely in the space of two interactive sound installations - BOPI and Mapping Chopin, and then to take part in workshops that relate to one of the installations. The event will be full of creative surprises.

Winter family Sunday at Galowice

The Carriage Museum in Galowice welcomes to an exhibition of an unique sleigh collection, which includes taxi sleigh, cross-country sleigh to ride in open fields, palace sleigh for a princess, and many other very interesting winter exhibits. It will be also the last chance to see the exhibition presenting accessories necessary when travelling in the old times.

Adults will be welcome to a lecture by Prof. Tomasz Przerwa "Winter travels to the unknown. A few words about voyages in the 19th century Sudets". In the meantime kids will be making Christmas tree decorations and toys, under the eye of experienced artists.
