What's on? New Year's Eve in Wroclaw Market Square
The New Year's Eve concert in Wroclaw Market Square will be hosted by two television hosts running "The Voice of Poland" in TVP2: Maciej Musiał and Tomasz Kammel. They will appear in the company of two unique and beautiful ladies: Halina Mlynkowa and Barbara Kurdej-Szatan.
Polish artists:
- Bajm. This Polish pop rock band was set up in 1978. They have been touring Poland since October to celebrate their 35th anniversary on stage. One of these anniversary gigs was given in Wroclaw.
- LemOn. Even though their music is considered difficult or alternative, they have achieved an unprecedented success over the last two years. Their première album Scarlet was released in November.
- Pectus. The band is composed of four brothers: Tomasz Szczepanik (composer/lyrics/vocals/front man), Marek Szczepanik (drums/vocals), Mateusz Szczepanik (bass/vocals), Maciej Szczepanik (guitar/vocals).
- Perfect. Each and every one of you knows their hits such as "Autobiografia" or "Nie płacz Ewka". Perfect returned in 2014 after a four-year break with their new studio album "DaDaDam".
- Margaret. She is a singer and fashion blogger best known for her hit "Thank You Wery Much". Her "Start a Fire" accompanied 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Championships in Poland.
- Natasza Urbańska. A television and theatre actress, singer and dancer.
- Donatan & Cleo. They represented Poland at this year's Eurovision with "My Słowianie". They reached the finals.
- Patrycja Markowska. A well-known daughter of a well-known father. She is a Polish singer and author of the lyrics and the daughter of Perfect frontman Grzegorz Markowski.
- Rafał Brzozowski. His musical career began when he took part in "Szansa na sukces" in 2002. A member of Emigranci, he took part in "The Voice of Poland" in 2011.
- Bracia. Another family band on the Wroclaw stage. Piotr Cugowski and Wojtek Cugowski gave their first acoustic performance in 1997, but they officially began their collaboration four years later, in 2001.
- Afromental. Afromental includes seven energetic and extremely talented young men. They released their new album on 24 November to reward their fans on the 10th anniversary of their activity. "Mental House" combines a number of styles, including groove, flow, funk, rapcore and heavy guitar sounds.
- Piersi. Last year, their leader Paweł Kukiz decided to terminate his collaboration with the band. Adam Asanov has been their singer ever since, and their "Bałkanica" was an indisputable hit of this year's summer.
- Marek Piekarczyk. He is a popular rock singer (best known as a front man in TSA), author of the lyrics and television personality. He has been on stage since 1969. He has been at his most successful with TSA, and their songs topped the charts a number of times in the past.
- Mesajah. Manuel Rengifo Diaz, aka Manolo, is a Polish reggae, dancehall and ragamuffin singer.
- The Voice of Poland finalists
Special guests from abroad:
- Drupi. He enjoyed enormous popularity in Poland in the late 1970s. His greatest hits include: "Vado Via", "Come Va" and "Piccola e fragile". They also well-known and popular in Poland.
- Thomas Anders from the legendary Modern Talking. His repertoire includes a number of solo recordings.
Programme of New Year's Eve celebrations in Market Square
Both the TVP2 viewers and those who decide to attend the event in Market Square are in for a boundless musical journey.. They will be able to hear the best European hits that the Polish audience have known and enjoyed for years.
Ranging from the fervent rhythms of the South, through the folk music of the Balkans, the tuneful Italy, poetic France, rocking England and best-selling Sweden to our greatest Polish hits! The entire Market Square will sway to the rhythm of European dances, including zorba, flamenco, English waltz or Irish dance.
The five hours of this incredible musical journey across Europe includes fifty smash hits to enjoy and to dance to. They will all be performed live and without playback, which is a regular thing and the pride of the annual New Year's Eve celebrations in Wroclaw Market Square.
As usual, there will also be a cabaret to entertain the audience. This year's New Year's Eve programme will feature KSM (Kabaret Skeczów Męczących), who are going to travel across Europe in just one evening.
