On 27 August, Wroclaw’s Plac Solny will be transformed into a venue for showcasing urban innovations. Between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., inhabitants will have an opportunity to meet representatives from companies, institutions, universities and municipal bodies that develop solutions related to the concept of a smart city.
Robert Bednarski, Smart City Director at Wroclaw City Office: 'Smart City Day is about showcasing the smart city in practice – not through presentations and strategies, but through technologies that you can touch, test and see in real-world applications. We want to show that a smart city means, above all, solutions that improve inhabitants’ safety, health, mobility and quality of life. For a few hours, Plac Solny will become an urban innovation lab open to everyone.

Smart City close to its residents
At Plac Solny, visitors will be able to learn about projects being developed in collaboration between the city and the business, academic and technology sectors. Participants will see equipment, interactive presentations, demonstrations and prototypes relating to smart transport, micromobility, last-mile logistics, renewable energy sources, environmental monitoring, safety, etc.
There will also be no shortage of solutions utilising artificial intelligence, advanced sensors and data analysis.
Attractions and programme of Smart City Day at Plac Solny
The event focuses on interactivity and workshops for the whole family. The programme will include, among others:
- Technology and transport: Globtrak Polska technology-driven bus, Ultre zero-emission cargo vehicle, smart solar solutions (SEEDiA, jCharge) and Inpeak pedestrian and cycle traffic sensors.
- Health and medicine: free ECG tests (Telemedycyna Polska), biometric analysis with a health report (Shen AI), treatments using the BEMER® electromagnetic field and hydrogen inhalation (DOLMED).
- Safety and education: first-aid workshops run by the Rescue Centre, the Safe Wroclaw zone (emergency backpacks, crisis response) and educational waste sorting stands run by Ekosystem.

Wroclaw: a leader in modern technology
Wroclaw consistently develops smart city projects, such as MPWiK’s automated water monitoring system, the city Geoportal and the use of artificial intelligence in collaboration with the Wroclaw University of Technology. Wroclaw is also a start-up powerhouse – as many as 23 per cent of Polish start-ups choose Lower Silesia as their base, which puts the region on a par with Warsaw – a city that is twice its size.
Smart city solutions in Wroclaw
For years, Wroclaw has implemented modern technologies to make life easier for its inhabitants and improve the administration of the city. See examples:

Smart City Day
The first Smart City Day was held on 28 August 2025. At that time, Plac Solny became a hub for modern technology. Visitors viewed and tested innovative solutions in such fields as green energy, education and medicine.
