TAO Digital Solutions (TAO stands for: Transformation, Automation and Optimisation) is an American company based in California that has successfully operated for years in the USA, Canada, India, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand. They specialise in modern engineering solutions in financial services, media and entertainment, and healthcare.
US company TAO Digital Solutions enters Europe
‘We see strong demand for our comprehensive services among customers in Europe and, therefore, have embarked on an ambitious expansion plan in this region,’ informs TAO Digital Solutions.
The entry of TAO Digital Solutions into European markets is to be co-ordinated by Wroclaw-based entrepreneur Krzysztof Kuliński.
‘We are looking for companies for M&A in Europe. Of course, my dream is to make such an investment in Poland and especially in my city. I have always believed that companies need to be global in order to grow. This is why working with TAO is an opportunity to go global. We are planning investments in several European countries. I am particularly keen for Wroclaw-based companies to be on this list,’ says Krzysztof Kuliński, adviser to TAO Digital Solutions.
TAO seeks companies that want to grow globally
TAO Digital Solutions' strategy is to buy or co-operate with IT companies already operating in Europe.
‘Such companies have employees, established positions and contacts. This allows TAO Digital Solutions to enter the European market straight away, rather than wasting time building its subsidiary from scratch. Importantly, TAO does not want to change local management, and it is to have the final say – the idea is that decisions on important issues should be made here, not overseas. TAO also wants employees to stay in the company. This is also one of the conditions for a potential transaction,’ adds Krzysztof Kuliński.
Krzysztof Kuliński returns to business and collaborates with US company TAO
Wroclaw-based entrepreneur Krzysztof Kuliński "Kuli" is well known in the business environment of the IT industry. He is one of the persons thanks to whom Wroclaw and the agglomeration are called the Polish “Silicon Valley", where nearly 90,000 people work (see below for the business showcase of Wroclaw).
During his career, Krzysztof Kuliński was Head of R&D at Siemens in Vienna, as well as the founder of the Siemens Software Development Centre in Wroclaw and the founder of REC Global, which is considered to be one of the fastest growing R&D companies in Central Europe.
- REC was bought by the US company GlobalLogic, which is now part of the Hitachi Group – but importantly, GlobalLogic's Polish headquarters are in Wroclaw.
- In December 2024, we reported that GlobalLogic and Nokia, the companies that are in Wroclaw, were joining forces and would collaborate on projects of advanced 5G and 4G solutions for enterprises.
‘Six years ago, after a laryngeal cancer surgery, I decided to move back to Austria and left GlobalLogic. After a year, however, I started to think that something was missing in my life and so I readily agreed to be a member of the supervisory board at the Wroclaw-based company Spyrosoft and to become an adviser also at the Wroclaw-based company BCF. I felt a bit needed again,’ says Krzysztof Kuliński, adding that he has now decided to work with TAO because he was very impressed by the company's CEO Rajkumar Velagapudi.
‘We had an opportunity to meet and he convinced me to work with him. In December, I was invited to their management meeting in Hyderabad. During this three-day meeting, I felt like I revisited my Wroclaw days. A great team with vision and enthusiasm. This is just what I needed,’ adds Krzysztof Kuliński.
Kuliński is known and appreciated in Wroclaw
It is worth recalling that Wroclaw's success in the IT sector would not have been possible without Siemens' SDC research and development centre worth 30 million EUR, which began to operate in the former Elwro plant thanks to Krzysztof Kuliński on 1st October 2000.
Importantly, the Siemens Centre headed by Krzysztof Kuliński was one of the co-founders of the IT Cluster in Wroclaw and started the whole process of creating larger and smaller companies specialising in ICT and R&D centres in the city.
Those who started working under Kuliński's tutelage made careers in many international companies and managed some of the largest IT companies in Wroclaw and Poland – this list includes companies such as Nokia, Tieto, Gigaset, Atos, REC Global, BenQ and TietoEnator and Opera Software research centres as well as EUVIC Solutions, Spyrosoft and Bright Coders' Factory.
Krzysztof Kuliński has been honoured with a number of awards, e.g. for the development of the R&D services industry in Lower Silesia; he was chosen Entrepreneur of the Year in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year competition, and he is also the winner of the ‘30 Creatives of Wroclaw’ ranking and the Award of the Mayor of Wroclaw.
