The president of the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of the Fine Arts, an academic worker, the author of works
The new director of the Wroclaw Contemporary Museum is a graduate of the University of Wroclaw, where she obtained the degree of Master of Art History in 1999 and the degree of PhD in 2004 on the basis of the dissertation ‘Visual Arts in Wroclaw in 1945–1970. Artists and Critics’.
Since the beginning, she has been associated with the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of the Fine Arts – first as co-ordinator of the program “Creation of a Regional Contemporary Art Collection”, then as member of the Management Board since 2008 and as president for over two years.
Since 2008, she has also worked at the University of Wroclaw as an associate professor in the Department of History of Modern Art in the Institute of Art History.
For a few years, she has been a senior inspector in the Centre for Artistic Education in Warsaw and the editorial assistant in the Quart quarterly. She started her professional work from the positions of museum assistant, custodian and then curator of exhibitions.
She is the author of a few dozen books on contemporary art, including a large monograph ‘Art in Wroclaw in 1945–1970. Artists, Works, Critics’ (published by Via Nova, 2016).
She is a member of the Council of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and the recently established Wroclaw Cultural Council of the Mayor of Wroclaw.
