The roller skating track will be one of the arenas of the 10. World Games, taking place in Wrocław in 2017. The project's concept is that the track will serve also the amateur rollerbladers and roller-skaters, who so far didn't have such a place in the capital of Lower Silesia. The estimated cost of the construction is over 3 million PLN.
Wrocławskie Inwestycje company has just announced a tender for a project of the roller skating track. The successful tenderer will have 6 months to complete the task. "We estimate that, if a tenderer is successfully selected, we could announce a tender for construction works in mid-2015" says Marek Szempliński from Wrocławskie Inwestycje. The track is to be built in Tysiąclecia Park (between ul. Rogowska and garden plots in ul. Jaksonowicka). It will include two tracks - a fast one and a street-style one.
Location of the roller skating track
The roller skating track will be located in the blue rectangular area marked with "A"
The first track, the fast one, is to be 200 metres long and 6 metres wide, and to resemble Wrocław horse racing track, Partynice, in shape. The track will be tilted in curves, and surrounded with the boards, 1.2 metre in height. After dusk the track will be floodlit.
On the other hand, the second track, the street-style one, will be surrounding the fast track, and the whole facility, and will be as much as 583 metres long, and 8 metres high. All enthusiasts of roller blades and roller skates will be able to use it. By the track installed will be permanent stands, able to accommodate ca. 300-400 people. If need be, temporary stands can be installed by the facility.
Organisation chart of the roller skating track
The fast track is marked with yellow, and the street-style track, with grey
The first stage of the investment includes building one administration and staff building, which will include, among others, changing rooms. In the second stage (not included in the order) planned are tennis courts, beach ball pitches, as well as a roller hockey field, convertible to ice-skating rink in winter.
The street-style track is to be connected with the fast track with an auxiliary track, ca. 3 m wide, which will allow to establish a joint measuring system on the start and finish. Although the street-style track surrounds the facility almost completely, the traffic of contestants and audience will remain collision-free due to, among others, pedestrian bridges.
