Pierogi are one of the most popular dishes, not only with the residents of Wroclaw. Rustic, on the go or home-made pierogi. The majority of Wroclaw-based eateries and restaurants have pierogi in their offer. We have spot-checked those that have made their names with pierogi to provide our own ranking of Wroclaw-based eateries. Read more about addresses, prices and menus.

Wroclaw's milk bars and eating places have already been covered here. As we have made our reconnaissance and spoken to the owners, we have noticed that pierogi are always popular with their customers. That's why we have decided to draw a list of places that specialise in pierogi.

Pierogarnia on ul Legnicka has been operating for ten years now. Since its inception, the business has expanded with a second venue on ul Trzebnicka. "Customers flock in to enjoy pierogi with potatoes and cheese and, in summer season, with blueberries and strawberries," says the owner Karolina Kuźma. Pierogarnia attracts people from all walks of life: students, mothers with children, the elderly or office workers from the area.

Bar Pierożek on ul Poniatowskiego has been operating only for three years, which is just enough to win the palates of the local residents, students and office workers in the area. "We have frequent visits from young people who order pierogi as a takeaway and enjoy their meal on Wyspa Słodowa," admits the owner Marcelina Żmuda. Customers returning to the eater often order pierogi with potatoes and cheese and, in season, with blueberries and strawberries.

Pierogarnia Kubiel has been operating for ten years now. Apart from the regular menu which includes pierogi with potatoes and cheese, with meat or with cabbage, there are also seasonal variations such as pierogi with blueberries, strawberries or apples. Pierogarnia Kubiel also offers real pierogi discoveries, e.g. pierogi with blood sausage or chicken liver (happy customers say they make great barbecues).

Initially, Pierogi Krzycka put down roots at the Capitol Music Theatre. The eatery was present there until 2009. It was later re-launched on ul Krzycka and, two years later, it expanded with a branch at the terminus in Oporów. "We serve people from all walks of life: entrepreneurs, radio journalists and normal residents of Wroclaw," says the owner Dagmara Śmiłowska. "People all the way from Biskupin travel to the Oporów terminus to taste our specialities!" she adds. Local customers are particularly fond of pierogi with blueberries.

This eatery has been operating for six years now. Although the place does not specialise only in pierogi, the staff say they sell really well. Most of the customers like pierogi with potatoes and cheese, but there are also many of them who like rustic pierogi and pierogi with spinach. Pierogi with fruit are served only in season.

Pierogowo is a real chain of eateries. There are five places in Wroclaw where you can enjoy a serving of handmade pierogi from Zakrzów. The first Pierogowo branch was set up at Bulwar Ikara, and four other branches were launched soon afterwards. Our Bulwar Ikara branch sells a lot of pierogi highlander's style as well as pierogi with buckwheat groats and light, as the place attracts a lot of elderly customers," says Renata Zaremba, Restaurant Manager. "Apart from this, people are very fond of pierogi with potatoes and cheese and pierogi with spinach."

Pierogowo.pl has been operating for a little more than two years now, but it has managed to win customers from the area and elsewhere. "People from all over Poland come to taste our specialities, and we have returning customers even from Poznań," says Adam Muca, the co-owner of Pierogowo.pl. Pierogowo.pl specialises in pierogi with broad beans. "This type of pierogi has their ardent fans and as soon as they see the veg in the market they immediately ask if the dish is available," he adds. W Pierogowo.pl offers regular and seasonal menus.

Pierogarnia Stary Młyn offers pierogi in several dozen varieties. Apart from regular cooked pierogi, you can also taste their baked variety. The establishment caters to both carnivores and vegetarians and also those who have a sweet tooth. They serve unusual combinations of ingredients, e.g. you can sample pierogi with chicken, cheese and field mushrooms or with fresh broccoli, blue cheese and cheese spread. Customers may order pierogi in smaller (3 pieces) and larger (5 pieces) portions.
