PepsiCo has opened its largest photovoltaic farm in Poland to date with a capacity of 3.5 MWp in Święte near Wroclaw. It is a part of this year's investment of PLN 22 million in developing our own renewable energy sources.
PepsiCo company: ‘In the first phase of the project, which has just been completed, more than 6,000 photovoltaic modules (with more efficient cells on both sides of the panels) were installed over an area of approximately 2 hectares, reaching the capacity of 3.5 MWp (Megawatt peaks).’
'The scale of this investment is reflected in the installation of 2 km of medium-voltage power lines,’ adds Tomasz Bronny, the director of PepsiCo’s plant in Święte.
PepsiCo has the most advanced factory in the European Union near Wroclaw
The American corporation PepsiCo is one of the world's largest producers and sellers of beverages and food products.
The Americans opened PepsiCo’s factory near Wroclaw on 31st May 2023. This is an investment of more than one billion zlotys and a few hundred new jobs in the Wroclaw agglomeration. The plant was built in the village of Święte in the Środa Śląska municipality, right beside the Wrocław–Środa Śląska road 94. Today it is PepsiCo’s most advanced plant in the European Union.
‘Now this plant consumes 11.7 GWh of electrical energy per year. Thanks to the photovoltaic farm, 24% of the total energy demand will come from solar energy. All of the energy generated by the photovoltaic farm will be used for the plant's needs,’ PepsiCo reports.
What does PepsiCo produce near Wroclaw?
PepsiCo's largest photovoltaic farm in Poland will support the production of well-known brands of crisps and snacks.
According to PepsiCo’s plan, the new photovoltaic installation is to provide 100% of the energy needed to power the eRBS electric oven used for baking crisps on sunny days. Moreover, the company assumes that the installation will fully cover the energy requirements of the new production line that should be put into operation by the middle of next year.

PepsiCo has been in Poland since 1991 and has over 3,000 employees. Other production facilities are in Michrów, Żnin, Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
