Several dozen women have registered for childbirth. The cheapest basic package costs 5,900 PLN.
"Our customers tend to choose a basic pricing package that guarantees natural childbirth or a Caesarean, all necessary medical examination for a new born baby, a vaccination package and hospitalisation for 2 days after childbirth," says Agnieszka Konieczna, the hospital's director. "However, we have also admitted a patient who ordered our premium package: the opportunity to choose a particular doctor, individual support from a trained midwife at a patient's home for several weeks after childbirth and intensive training programme that allows to regain shape prior to pregnancy."
During natural childbirth, women can adopt any positions and use balls, sako bags, massage and hydro massage. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, epidural administration and Entonox are also available. The baby's pulse is under constant observation by medical personnel.
However, Medfemina's primary assets include: family atmosphere, empathetic personnel as well as time and attention that they pay to mothers and their new born babies.
Prior to childbirth, the patient gives a list of priorities to her midwife, e.g. the presence of a relative, skin to skin contact with a new born bay, the moment when the umbilical cord is cut, breast-feeding, kangarooing the baby. Children born at Medfemina undergo all the necessary screening and vaccination procedures. In case of jaundice, the hospital offers photo therapy for babies free of charge. A lactation counsellor will help young mums to breast-feed their babies.
Women at Medfemina are primarily admitted for childbirth, but they also undergo gynaecological surgeries, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy as well as aesthetic gynaecology treatment. Consultations for pregnant women who would like to give birth to their babies at Medfemina are also provided. The hospital is similar to other units of its kind in that it requires one qualification consultation in the 35th week of pregnancy.
Prices
All medical procedures are payable, and the hospital has no intention to sign the contract with the National Health Fund. Three packages are available for prospective female patients.
- The basic package costs 5.9 thousand PLN. This includes: natural childbirth or with a Caeserean, or other services related to childbirth (cardiotocography, anaesthesia, medication, support from a midwife, etc.), hospitalisation in a double room for two days after childbirth, food and a layette for a new born baby.
- The medium package costs 8.9 thousand PLN, which offers the same set of services plus hospitalisation in a single room.
- The premium package (15.9 thousand PLN) includes: a VIP or family room with a relative to support the patient, assistance from a selected doctor, consultations with a doctor and a midwife and intensive post-childbirth physiotherapy.
