English captions on displays in public buses is another nod towards tourists or English inhabitants of Wroclaw. Since August 2020, passengers travelling by public buses can hear the voice of Terry Clark-Ward – a British speaker living in the capital of Lower Silesia for 20 years – at selected MPK stops. Thanks to him, tourists can hear in English that they are approaching the Centennial Hall or the Zoo and Africarium.
Now the carrier is introducing another convenience – captions on electronic displays: “AIRPORT” in the case of buses running to the Wroclaw airport (e.g., bus lines 106 and 129) and “RAILWAY STATION” to the Main Railway Station (e.g., bus lines 112, 113, 612).
‘Display boards will also continue to show pictograms with respective images of an aircraft and a locomotive, to which travellers are already accustomed,’ says Bartosz Naskręski from MPK Wrocław.
