The Lower Silesian Pumpkin Festival is the most colourful autumn festival in Wroclaw – it attracts up to a few thousand inhabitants from across the Wroclaw Province every year.
This year’s event will abound in attractions for the eye, the ear and the palate. If you visit the Botanical Garden of the University of Wroclaw, you will have an opportunity to buy not only most varied (edible and decorative) pumpkins, but also honeys, plant oils or spices.
The gardeners will show new plants with unusual shapes and colours, and cooks will offer exquisite pumpkin dishes for tasting.

- The Biggest Pumpkin – the start of the competition, 11:00 a.m.
- The Most Beautiful Pumpkin – the final of the competition, 12:00 p.m.
- Pumpkin Dwarves – an open-air visual art workshop, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Shelling pumpkin seeds against the clock – a competition for children and adults, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Pumpkin Hunters – a competition for children and adults, 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Colours of Autumn – an open-air painting workshop, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Pumpkin Masks workshop, 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Performance of a song and dance ensemble and musical games – 2:00 p.m.
There will also be exhibitions, fairs, pumpkin tasting and games.
The Lower Silesian Pumpkin Festival will take place on Sunday 9th October from 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.
