The Kłokoczyce and Orbita pools, as well as Morskie Oko and Glinianki lidos are open for visitors until Sunday, August 31st. They will close in September.
"It was a successful season. A particularly hot July and fine August guaranteed large visitor traffic. This season was also good in terms of safety. There were no major accidents or injuries" stresses Maciej Moczko, the marketing manager at Wrocław training Centre Spartan, a company that runs two pools and lidos in Wrocław.
On hot vacation days, the most popular Orbita pool at ul. Wejherowska hosted as many as 4,000 people.
"It was also a test of our infrastructure. A few thousand of bathers really makes one particularly sensitive on the quality of water. Sanitary services proved that the technologies we use, to treat water among others, were a pass" added Maciej Moczko.
The financial summary of the "bathing season" is still pending. How many people visited the bathing sites, and what income did that provide with the city company, Spartan, will be revealed in September.
Wrocław lidos and pools will be closed in September. And what if another hot month comes up? The representatives of Spartan claim that re-opening of the bathing sites is theoretically possible, but it requires holding new tenders and contracts with the Magistrate.
What's the weather like in the last week of vacation?
No particular heat, say the weather specialists from the Weather and Precipitation Institute in Wrocław. The last week of vacation will hit as much as 22 degrees Celsius.
"Tuesday and Wednesday look cloudy and rainy, but on Thursday it will clear up. Weekend weather will be rather unsettled - showers on Saturday, and no umbrella required on Sunday" said Marek Kurowski, the on-call weather forecaster of the Weather and Precipitation Institute in Wrocław.
