In the city, there are four labour wards in public hospitals. However, until now there has been no private centre where women could give birth privately. "This clinic will fill an important gap on the Wroclaw medical market," says Katarzyna Podsiadło, the spokeswoman for the investor. According to the investors, the labour ward will be a modern and luxurious facility as befits a private clinic. The staff of the new hospital will consist mainly of doctors working in the Medfemina Health Centre at ul. Kukuczki.
The centre will include a comfortable delivery room adapted to family births and a Cesarean section room equipped in modern medical equipment. Various methods of pain alleviation will be available to labouring women, including traditional methods (ball, sako bag, massage, water) and modern methods (TENS, Entonox, extradural anaesthesia).
Apart from that, the hospital will be equipped with a two-person intense postoperative supervision room and a room for newborn infants requiring intense postpartum care, which is equipped with modern incubators and resuscitation devices. It will also have an intelligent personnel calling system that reduces the time of response in a situation requiring immediate mobilisation of a team.
Luxury has its price
The clinic will contain altogether 11 beds in single or double luxury rooms equipped with bathrooms and infant care corners. All rooms of the hospital will be air-conditioned.
How much will one childbirth cost? We learned that the price list is still being determined. It is said that the estimated price of a childbirth will be around 6,000 PLN.
The centre will also offer individual round-the-clock care, as well as the choice of a doctor or midwife, home visits by midwives, lactation advice, and medical and physiotherapy services supporting postpartum or postoperative convalescence.
Apart from the labour ward, the hospital will also perform gynaecological operations using the traditional method, as well as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and aesthetic gynaecology treatments.
The first private labour ward is being built by a group of investors connected with the Medfemina Health Centre.
