Family 500+ program: requests can be filed from 1 st February

Under the Family 500+ program, families with dependent children are entitled to a child care benefit of 500 PLN per every child who is less than 18 years’ old. From 1^st July 2019, this benefit may be granted for all children, regardless of the family’s income. In Wroclaw, around 77,000 families make use of this program, and support is provided to 107,000 children in the total amount of 53.5 million PLN.

Since the beginning, the program has been implemented in Wroclaw by the Municipal Social Welfare Centre (MOPS).

The current benefit period 2019–2021 running from 1^st July 2019, for which the right to child care benefit is determined, has been prolonged till 31^st May 2021. From 1^st June 2021, this right will be determined for the annual benefit period running till 31^st May 2022.

In order to receive money from 1^st June 2021, it will be necessary to file a new request. In Wroclaw, it must be filed to the Municipal Social Welfare Centre. Requests for the payment of child care benefit for a new benefit period commencing on 1^st June 2021 can be filed electronically from 1^st February 2021 and by traditional means – in the office or by post in paper version – from 1^st April.

If a person applying for the benefit files a complete and correctly filled child care benefit request for the new period by 30^th April 2021, the payment for June will be made by 30^th June 2021 at the latest, which guarantees the continuity of payment of the benefit from the first month of the new period.

In the case of requests filed in May 2021, the payment for June and July 2021 will be made not later than by 31^st July 2021. If the request is filed in June 2021, the benefit granted for June, July and August 2021 will be calculated and paid not later than by 31^st August 2021.

However, if the request is filed at a later date (after 30^th June 2021), the child care benefit will be granted and paid from the month in which the request was filed. This means that only filing the request by the end of June 2021 will guarantee payment with adjustment from 1^st June.

The program service centre in Wroclaw is located in the Grafit Business Centre at ul. Namysłowska 8 (beside Górka Słowiańska).
