Created in connection with the Wroclaw Brave Festival in 2009, the artistic and educational project Brave Kids is one of the most renowned and prestigious cultural events of Wroclaw and Poland. Its main organiser and originator is the Song of the Goat Theatre Association in Wroclaw. It is an independent model of creative work that allows children and young people to develop their talent freely and to engage in artistic co-operation; the excellence of this approach is proved best by the previous 11 editions of the festival. This year’s motto of the festival is: ‘Let's give the floor to children and young people. We want to hear you’.
The original concept of the festival has been restored this year: children and young people from various countries have arrived in Poland. These are around 35 persons from Georgia, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, Argentina, Czech Republic and Estonia.
As in previous years, participants of Brave Kids from abroad are hosted by local families that provide accommodation and meals to them. All 250 young artists participating in this year’s festival will also meet at Brave Kids under the Wroclaw Sky along with 400 child and youth artists from all parts of Poland. They will prepare together a great surprise for Wroclaw inhabitants, which they will present on Plac Wolności on the Saturday afternoon of 28th August.
