The offer of the Night of the Museums attracted thousands of persons in Wroclaw last year. This time, because of the coronavirus epidemic, the traditional event will be replaced with the Virtual Night of the Museums, during which we will sightsee 15 Wroclaw places – museums and attractions – online during the weekend of 15th–17th May. The sightseeing tour is scheduled as part of the celebration of 75 years of postwar Wroclaw.
Night of the Museums in live mode
It will have the form of virtual evenings – each will start at 8:00 p.m. and end after midnight. Five live walking tours of museums will be presented every day, each lasting around 30 minutes. They will appear at every full hour, starting from 8:00 p.m.
The tours will be guided by excellent experts in history and art history, as well as authors of exhibitions.
Close encounter with art
One of the peculiarities of this year’s Virtual Night of the Museums is Elżbieta Terlikowska’s exhibition in the Theatre Museum. It is not only an opportunity to meet the best experts, but also to look closely at the collection, for which we do not always have time when sightseeing museums.
Where to watch the Virtual Night of the Museums
All live broadcasts will be shown on the official city profile Wroclaw [Wroclove]; all materials will also be available at wroclaw.pl in the section concerning the official celebration of 75 years of Wroclaw.
Videos will be prepared in a style similar to hugely popular walks around Wroclaw.
